THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK
COLE PORTER
ROSALIE
NEIL DIAMOND: IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHTNeil went all the way back to the Brill Building gang. In 1998 he recorded a disk of songs from movies that was produced by Bob Gaudio of the 4 Seasons. Elmer Bernstein handled the orchestration. He gives it a good turn.

CARLY SIMON: IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHTIn 2005 Carly took on the Great American Songbook, and this entry is simply beautiful. Her voice has darkened over the years, and its just the right approach for this song.

I think everyone who sings has taken a turn at that tune! Whew! Talk about an exhaustive study!

I am constantly amazed at how many singers sing the same Cole Porter song....so many versions. Thanks, Publius! ((HUGS))
