NEIL DIAMOND: “IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT”

Neil went all the way back to the Brill Building gang. In 1998 he recorded a disk of songs from movies that was produced by Bob Gaudio of the 4 Seasons. Elmer Bernstein handled the orchestration. He gives it a good turn.

CARLY SIMON: “IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT”

In 2005 Carly took on the Great American Songbook, and this entry is simply beautiful. Her voice has darkened over the years, and it’s just the right approach for this song.
