On the coldest day of the season, a Skowhegan-area propane dealer has a pointed message for would-be customers.
“If you voted for Donald Trump for President, I will no longer be delivering your gas, please find someone else,” is the message left for customers that call Turner LP Gas Service, on Canaan Road in Skowhegan.

I cannot imagine small businesses selling a commodity and not a service in this economy turning away customers.

I would agree. It's not like Turner is selling chocolate candy or anything like that. At this time of the year lives depend on what he sells.
Maybe I am naive, but I imagine there are a more than a few non-Trumpers in the area that won’t buy into this. At least I hope so.

Interesting to read the comments on the newspaper’s website. Mostly negative. My opinion is that unless he is a monopoly supplier, he is exercising his rights to reduce his own income and customer list. I would imagine that a local rival will be happy to replace this service.
Now, if there is no rival service and it is a legal or effective monopoly, then that is the time for legal actions. Otherwise we fall into the trap of going to the government to settle private disputes.
Guy is an idiot if true. Trump customers may get wind of his statement and proactively canel upfront. I would.
But GOD FORBID some Christian bakers choose not to bake a wedding cake for two homosexuals.
Then he must eschew all increase in requests for service due to Trump’s economic policies over the length of his time in office.

If he has the right to do this would be contingent on the availability of other sources. And any utility laws. But unless you told him how you voted how would he know.
What if they voted for Trump and they’re gay? Can he be sued for hate? (Or, whatever you sue bakers for.)
