Just trying to keep the dead people happy so they will continue reliably voting for Democrats.

I understand this. Nobody needs health care more than dead people. How do you expect them to get better without it?
To: jazusamo
I had the exact opposite problem. The medicaid people entered my dad’s date of death as 8/1 instead of the acutal date lf 8/14 all the medical bills between those dates were not paid as they assumed they were fraudulent. It took a letter to. H assemblyman to get it straightened out.

The incentives are all wrong... it’s not the people who enforce the rules... it’s the rules that cause the fraud. Change the incentives... or this type of fraud will go one forever.

I’d venture a guess that many of the insurance companies are paying Medicaid officials handsomely for those “mistakes.”

The government spent a breathtaking $26 million to provide dead peoplewho were poor when they were alivewith health insurance... That stands to reason. Rich people can afford to pay for their own post-life health insurance.

Bureaucrats know they won’t be prosecuted so there’s no reason for them to not engage in fraud for the purpose of empire building. Start putting a few in prison and things would change drastically.
