Princeton Is Latest Ivy League School to Suspend Team Over Vulgar Materials
NY Times ^ | 12/16/2016 | Christopher Mele

Princeton University suspended the season of its men’s swimming and diving team after the discovery of material on its electronic mailing list that was “vulgar and offensive as well as misogynistic and racist,” the university said Thursday.

A final decision whether to cancel the season will be made in the next few days, John D. Cramer, a university spokesman, said in an interview.

The suspension came after an anonymous complaint made this week alerted officials to “several materials” that were offensive, including in electronic correspondence, the university said in a statement.

Mr. Cramer would not discuss specifics of the other materials, including their content or when they were created, but confirmed that the comments were made about members of the women’s swimming and diving team.

The suspension was the third of an Ivy League team since the start of November. Last month, Columbia and Harvard each suspended the season of a team after allegations of lewd behavior surfaced.

More control over external pressure from sources outside of the NCAA system, institutionally controlling recruitment of NCAA prospects creating a downturn in abhorrent behaviors, thus leveraging the college as the respective charters that were originally struck - A bastion of education, not a sports club filled with disassociated participants.

The ones who came up with the offending material may be transsexual, so it might be ok.

Or competitive gymnastics, where little girls are about 80% sure to be molested?

Sounds like a jock that figures that everyone should be into sports.

I detested mandatory PE in grade school, and I made dang sure that the courses I took afterwards had NOTHING to do with physical exertion.

Those who enjoy sports, good for you. Just leave me out of your pointless inane useless sweaty pastimes. I’ll be working on my projects, creating useful items, or having a cold adult beverage.

Oh, and it’s inTRAmural

But are the swimming and diving teams committing felonies like the basketball and football teams? I doubt it.

I’m with them. It’s time we stopped giving athletes a pass. All this bad behavior we see in the pros starts in their youth, when their high school and college decide they’re above the rules because of their physical talents. In many ways your sports teams are the public face of the school, it should be demanded that they be better, not forgiven that they be worse. Learn from Baylor, don’t put up with crap.

Brings to mind a double image I first saw in Pookie’s Toons, IIRC. 1st image depicts rioting 1970s hippies calling returning Vietnam troops “baby killers”. The 2nd shows 2016 snowflakes, rioting for the RIGHT to KILL BABIES!

Oh dear, they were probably making lewd and vulgar comments about the secondary sex characteristics of the female swimmers. It surely violated the purity and sanctity of these chaste gentlewomen.

Exactly.

And, these days, the female students are more foul-mouthed than the males.

Aside from the fact that most US colleges and universities would be thrilled if it happened, what would be the effect if males stopped seeking admission for “higher education” completely?

So, is the college hacking the students’ email accounts now?

No, somebody (likely a SJW athlete) snitched on them.

From ESPN yesterday:

An Indianapolis Star-USA Today investigation into sexual assault of young gymnasts has found hundreds of cases of athletes alleging abuse, as well as systemic failures that allowed abusive coaches to relocate to other gyms.

At least 368 gymnasts throughout the United States have alleged being the victim of some form of sexual abuse over the past 20 years, according to police files and court cases obtained throughout the nine-month investigation. A number of the victims were children, and almost all of them were girls, according to the Indianapolis Star.
