Press Releases 12.15.16 Pelosi Statement Calling for an Independent Investigation of Putin’s Interference in U.S. Elections
San Francisco – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released this statement today reiterating the need for a bipartisan, independent review following recent reports of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal involvement in U.S. elections. Pelosi, the longest serving Member of the House Intelligence Committee, is a former Ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.
“Elections determine the future our children will inherit. Given the alarming magnitude, seriousness and scope of Russia’s efforts to undermine U.S. elections, we must have an independent, bipartisan investigation to protect the integrity of our democracy.
“Republicans should work with House Democrats to pass the Protecting Our Democracy Act, H.R. 6447, introduced by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings and Intelligence Committee Member Eric Swalwell. This critical legislation would establish a truly bipartisan, independent commission to investigate Russia’s efforts to undermine our elections and democratic institutions.
“The American people are gravely concerned about Russia’s involvement in our elections – and this Congress has a Constitutional duty to respond to these concerns with urgency.”
Don’t confuse her. She wants the Government to investigate, but the Government agencies which could give evidence, if there is any, won’t cooperate with Congress. It’s all just so clear!
It’s not the evidence, it’s the seriousness of the charge. We’ve seen this play before.
And our children’s future will be much,much better with PE Trump in The White House.
This is insanity and extreme jealousy at work. They can’t take the fact that they LOST. We, the American people REJECT them and what they stand for. The whole sorry lot of them including McCain, Jeb! Linda and the whole lot of the GOPeahens and every single darn Democrat. Begone!
Democrats would love it if Congress frittered away valuable time on this wild goose chase rather than addressing Obamacare, taxes, regulations and immigration.
Trump and the GOP need to ignore this and focus like a laser on the 100 day plan.
