Hillary Clinton is "hurting" following her election loss to Donald Trump, California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Wednesday.
"I think it is fair to say she’s hurting," Feinstein said during an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. The Democrat had lunch with Clinton last week when the former secretary of state visited Capitol Hill to attend Nevada Sen. Harry Reid’s retirement party.
"She is brave," Feinstein said of Clinton.
"She is a real professional in the sense of her values, care, concern. I think all of us know who watch that campaign, it was a very hard campaign for her - the name-calling, the email intrusion, the misinterpretation of what she had done with the emails," she continued.

"I think she has a spine of steel," Feinstein added. "I think she's going to come through this fine, but I think this is really a tough time for a wonderful human being."

What difference does it make?
Yes, it’s especially hard since she figured she could run this race as if it were one of her walks in the woods, and just have the presidency handed to her at the end. She deserved it. It was her time. It didn’t matter that she was a crooked, lying, foul old woman. It was hers.
I remember the day after the 1972 election seeing a photo, shot from behind, of the defeated George McGovern hunched over a bowl of cereal. I didn’t support him, but I felt kind of sorry for him. Just the sympathy of one human being for another.
On the other hand, Hillary’s hurting doesn’t move me.
