Remember when the Electoral College was evil and needed to be abolished. Ten electors, including Nancy Pelosi's daughter, have a great new plan. And it doesn't take much reading between the lines.
Ten members of the Electoral College, including Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s daughter Christine and a former member of Congress, are demanding a briefing from U.S. intelligence officials on any ongoing investigations into Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.
In a letter to Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, the electors — nine Democrats and one Republican — argue that they require the information ahead of Dec. 19, when the Electoral College is set to meet and select the next president.
Why exactly do the Electors require information that has nothing to do with their current function, which is representative, rather than deliberative? Because Pelosi argues they are a deliberative body.

Forgive me, this post is a little off topic. But I put up a post the other day on some thread about how much time I spent with Nancy Pelosi when I was a child.
“The stories I could tell,” was my quote. A couple of commenters asked me to expand but time got away from me.
Nancy D’Alesandro’s father was Mayor of Baltimore, so was her brother I think.
My father was a member of Baltimore Carpenter’s union 101. As a side story, one of our favorite things to do was to go to the polling places on election day after 7pm. The electricians somehow, don’t ask me how because I was only 9 years old, zapped the voting machines, setting them all back to zero, for the other guy, again, don’t ask me how but nobody in Baltimore, even back in 1958, ever really got their vote as cast. Mayor D’Alesandro was the guy who let the unions in to do their cheating.
Anyway, my father built the D’Alesandro house in Baltimore’s Little Italy. My Catholic school was right around the corner from the D’Alesandros so me and my brother used to go to Nancy D’Alesandros’ house after school and help my Dad.
I vaguely remember Mayor D’Alesandro but boy do I remember Nancy.
Nancy Pelosi is about seven or eight years older than me but I remember her well.
She had her father wrapped around her finger, always got her way. Oh, and I will always remember her perfectly pleated Catholic school skirt uniforms, I don’t know why but hey, I was just a kid.
I remember how she’d come in from high school, throw her books down, and ask her mother if she could do something or other. If her mother said no she went to her father, who was a real pushover, and she always got her way.
That’s all. No big deal really but you might note that this woman got her way her entire life.
You can’t make this stuff up.
How in the hell did Nancy Pelosi’s daughter become an elector? Can you imagine the explosion of liberal heads had Trump’s son been an elector?

This whole carnival show has become really tiresome. May all their fantasies be dashed on the rocks of reality.
More to the point, only one Republican elector is involved in this. Why on earth would the Dem electors care about any possible investigation of Trump? It’s not like they can do anything to affect his election except to actually vote *for* him. If they vote against their own state’s election results in some kind of futile “protest” i.e. voting for some other Republican, all they’re doing is diminishing Hillary’s eventual electoral total.
Frankly, I’m fine with that. It lets me gloat even harder to the Libs that I know that Hillary’s actual general-election total is even lower than the already-low number she was allocated on election night. I’d *love* to see these idiots pull so many of their votes from their designated candidate that she ends up below 200 EVs.
Our so-called Majority Leader McConnell wants an investigation too.

And...this is the reason why the electors vote in their state capitals. I don’t think you would want California electors mixing it up with Texas electors. At least most of the Texas electors.
This is straight up totalitarian. We have no way of knowing what this intel is amd no checks and balances, just people claiming they can make decisions for us.

They know they won’t overturn the election, this is just about trying to undermine Trump’s legitimacy, nothing more... they know he’s the next president but since he is almost certainly going to roll back decades of liberal crap, and when he does launch the US back on a course of economic growth and prosperity that hasn’t been seen in decades, they have to try their best to undermine him... that’s all this is about.

Lookit, it’s not that anybody really wants an investigation. What they want is to keep the election front and center in the electorate’s conscience so they can pound day in and day out, all kinds of rumors they can start........riots din’t work, recounts didn’t work, bribing electors didn’t work. Got to try everything.
But THIS is exactly why the Republicans always lose....THEY ARE ALWAYS ON THE DEFENSIVE!!!
Mitch McConnell should stand at the podium and state firmly that he sees no reason to tie up congress’ time for an investigation that is not warranted.
And for sure somebody should shut up Linda and Juan.
Notice Trump is not standing up all noble and proudly yielding to an investigation of nothinghood.
No, it won’t go nowhere but the left hopes....they hope.
So I guess disagreement with the election results is no longer a threat to our democracy?
