President-elect Donald Trump says he gets his top-secret presidential daily brief, not every day, but "when I need it."
But former CIA Director Michael Hayden said on Monday, not only does Trump need to hear the daily intelligence -- he also needs to communicate daily with the people who are gathering it.
"First of all, these are very good people that are giving me the briefings," Trump told "Fox News Sunday." "If something should change from this point, immediately call me. I'm available on one minute's notice.
"I don't have to be told -- you know, I'm like a smart person. I don't have to be told the same thing and the same words every single day for the next eight years. It could be eight years -- but eight years. I don't need that.

"....every single day for the next eight years." LOL! Me likey. But, back to the subject at hand. I seem to recall that our current office holder misses about 2/3 of the PDBs. Anyone remember where we heard that? Then again if you have an i.q. of 2,000 or so, who can tell you anything? Sorting wheat from chafe is a good trait.

Trump does not want them from THIS CIA.
He will wait until his CIA employees give him the briefings.

The book "Sabotage: America's Enemies within the CIA," by Rowan Scarborough is still relevant today after 10 years.

That is what I recall - that and for the most part he wants to read it when he does review it.

I think I read that Obama skipped almost all intelligence briefings
To: rktman
The briefings cover everything, even if there is no change. Why listen to the “no change” stuff over and over, I’d rather have him working on getting new jobs. The briefing should be “change only” items...if it was, he would listen every day. Listen to HIS WORDS on this, not the MSN’s interpretation of what he says.

Trump does not want them from THIS CIA.This CIA sucks. Their intel is FAKE!
To: rktman
Does anyone besides me remember that a couple of months back several dozen intel analysts resigned because their reports were being cooked to match the president’s opinions?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama told Trump he didn’t need to take the briefings every day.
But of course this sounds bad; even if the briefings are repetitive he should play along for a while.

That’s the key. You don’t need a daily meeting to find out nothing’s changed, until one day something does. We all have sat in daily or weekly meetings that we have because that is what we do. People pay more attention when it is a little more relevant to time and events.

The CIA is not very good at what they claim to do. We are still looking for those WMD’s that sent Bush off to war.
We have 17 intelligence organizations in the government. Seventeen!!! I would reduce those to three. Time to run the government like a business not a fraternity house.
