Moscow will escalate a decade long operation to boost support for the far-right and nationalist groups in Germany.
It comes as a CIA probe confirms Moscow helped Donald Trump win the US election though a series of cyber attacks.
A US official familiar with the investigation says Russian President Vladimir Putin will continue to wreck havoc.
The official said Moscow is launching a similar effort to influence the next German election, following an escalating campaign to promote far-right and nationalist political parties and individuals in Europe that began more than a decade ago.
In both cases, said the official, Mr Putin's campaigns in both Europe and the US are intended to disrupt and discredit the Western concept of democracy by promoting extremist candidates, parties, and political figures.

They will do whatever they can to keep their share of the federal budget. What budget ? Obama never came up with one. His staff knew that they could not be held accountable to something that didn't exist.

"In both cases, said the [US] official, Mr Putin's campaigns in both Europe and the US are intended to disrupt and discredit the Western concept of democracy by promoting extremist candidates, parties, and political figures."
So Trump's election was an attempt to "discredit the Western concept of democracy"? Says who?
This "official" needs to come out of the shadows. He sounds treasonous, like he's trying to undermine the duly-elected president. Or maybe the CIA needs to be utterly dismantled. Maybe we need to start over.

"These things arent being written for laughs. They are being written as a prelude to a possible crisis weve not seen in a LONG time."
The mindset of the anonymous "US official" is clear: he is an internationalist who is lying through his teeth to make it sound like those trying to preserve Western civilization and Western democracy are actually its enemies, extremists who have "wreaked havoc" by electing Donald Trump.
In essence, we have an official of the CIA declaring that Trump is illegitimate, an enemy of democracy, and basically a Russian plant.
It sounds to me like elements within our own government - allied with the media - are trying to destabilize the Trump administration before it even takes power. I'll go further: it sounds like they are trying to promote the idea of the assassination of Trump as a legitimate act.

The US media have turned Putin into an all-knowing, all-seeing super-human.

"Im confused and dont do drugs. How did cyberattacks help Trump get elected?"
They are deliberately conflating the idea of cyberattacks on the DNC with cyberattacks on the election system. There is NO evidence that Russia penetrated ANY of the thousands of separate vote-tabulating entities in the election, but that is what the media want you to think.

National Review is absolutely the worst; it freezes your computer with all of the back-end stuff that's going on, it's so slow it takes ten minutes to type in a two-sentence comment, and - guess what? - THEY DON'T CARE!

Agreed across the board and it’s disgusting.
We have a fight for control of the Federal govt on our hands.
For control of America.
Anyone who can’t see where this is heading should take a second look.
Or I could be completely wrong.
The CIA takes centuries to make things public. This time it only took a month.

Well, the Germans did screw the Russians by allowing Lenin to travel back home and destroy them. Time for payback.

More BS coming for the lame stream media. FAKE NEWS again.
Clinton’s are masters at throwing crap against the wall, hoping that it sticks so the lame stream media will follow up with more bogus stories. Time to put the lying media out of business.

Europe and Britain have extremely censored, slower internet access, Their media is outright propaganda and the governments try to encorfe a code of silence that means jail time for dissenters. US intercontinental communications for the average JOE are near miraculous compared to British and EU options for the serfs and subjects across the pond. That is why the Germans, with a language deficiency to start with are flooded by EU bureaucrats and moselms and non-germans. The average German has their hands tied, their mouths taped shut and their eyes blindfolded. Brits are not far behind. Censorship and anti-slander laws muzzle all but the brave.

Germany like Britain has mediocre internet service that is very restricted. What we take for granted they cant get. Visualize America without talk radio, conservative news sites or ANY alternative media and you get the picture how far down the rabbit hole Germany has fallen. The Germans need a breath of freedom from their state religion and the Russian Orthodox Christian Russians are in a good position to look their way.

they were hoping Trump would pick Romney. I wonder what red state they represent...one that begins with the letter U perhaps?

Liberals and the left being exposed as conspiracy nuts. Losers. I think that train left the station with Hillarys Vast Right Wing Conspiracy comment.
The Right Wing in this country couldnt conspire to steal candy from a baby.
A conspiracy requires the conspirators to keep their mouths shut. The Republicans forget about secrecy the moment they see a TV camera.
