The mindset of the anonymous "US official" is clear: he is an internationalist who is lying through his teeth to make it sound like those trying to preserve Western civilization and Western democracy are actually its enemies, extremists who have "wreaked havoc" by electing Donald Trump.
In essence, we have an official of the CIA declaring that Trump is illegitimate, an enemy of democracy, and basically a Russian plant.
It sounds to me like elements within our own government - allied with the media - are trying to destabilize the Trump administration before it even takes power. I'll go further: it sounds like they are trying to promote the idea of the assassination of Trump as a legitimate act.

Agreed across the board and it’s disgusting.
We have a fight for control of the Federal govt on our hands.
For control of America.
Anyone who can’t see where this is heading should take a second look.
Or I could be completely wrong.
The CIA takes centuries to make things public. This time it only took a month.
