Get a backup server to switch to, so the site can keep running when the main server has to be being taken offline for regular maintenance.
Downtime should be once a week for several hours. Internet forums follow this rule.

Thanks. I seem to come down with a rotten cold (or whatever it is) right at the onset of winter, every few years.
I shouldn’t complain, though. When I was a kid, I got it every year. I ‘spose I’ve picked up better antibodies along the way :-)
I think I’m on the back end of it, now. Having the forum back online sure helps.
