UC DAVIS (CBS13) A first-of-its-kind surgery at UC Davis Childrens Hospital had a happy ending just in time for the holidays.
Doctors are celebrating a successful fetal surgery on a baby boy while he was still growing inside the womb.
Bobby Angeles and Khae Saetern named their little boy Matthew, which means a gift from God. Its a fitting name when you consider the loss theyve experienced and the loss they almost faced.
In the last three years, theyve dealt with infertility, miscarriages, a baby girl who was stillborn. Then their unborn son had a serious condition that threatened his life.
Every moment, I am thinking when Im driving, Please God. Just take care of my son. Please God, Angeles said.
Matthew Tobias Saetern-Angeles was not expected to make it. But now two months later, hes sporting a hearty head of hair and sleeping like a champ.

But...
... if it’s still in the womb it’s just a fetus, not a baby...
If operating is possible to save the baby, how is abortion legal to kill him?
Nice catch...
Exactly right!
The liberal loves baby murder.
If this doctor is performing surgery while still in the womb, imagine what he can do after he is born.
Also we need to make people aware that children have been operated on before birth for many years:

How can it be a choice to abort, and yet a murder if the fetus dies as a result of another?
It can’t be wrongful death, if the fetus isn’t considered a person yet.
It could be wrongful termination of a pregnancy, but that wouldn’t carry the same weight as ‘a killing’.
What a tangled web the Left weaves.
Abortions and the killing of a fetus are both the murder of a human life.
But...
... if its still in the womb its just a fetus, not a baby...
Unless someone kills the mother, then its two lives.
Same people would say, if its her choice, abort.
Yep Libtards.
How many students have heard of Samuel Armas? Telling his story would be another example of how to impress students with the truth that the unborn are just as human as we are. Samuel was operated on at 21 weeks gestation in-utero for a spinal cord defect. Pictures of his hand grasping the surgeons are among the most powerful and unforgettable in recent years. Samuel was born on Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999 weighing 5 lbs 11 oz. Samuel's mom, Julie later wrote, He was born at 36 weeks but came into the world screaming his head off! He did not have to spend any time in a neonatal unit and came home with us on Monday, Dec. 6.
The Armas story and his pictures should be part of this program in every grade from at least sixth and repeated annually through to twelfth. Students will have a personal story of Life Before Birth that simply cannot be denied or forgotten. The photo above was taken by Michael Clancy. It is protected by U.S. Copyright Law. I wonder if they have to give anaestesia to the baby separately from the mother? I would hate for the poor baby to have to go through the operation without being under.
Amazing...
According to the surgeon, the baby was anesthetized throughout the surgery.
If the baby is on the family medical plan, then it’s a baby, not a fetus (not-human-yet-with-no-rights).
Yes indeed.
There are medical charts for this “blob of tissue” there are medical bills for this “blob of tissue”.
IIRC in California abortion is allowed though 9 months, so the parents could have....
25+ years ago a friend who was in medical residency related a horrific story:
A staff physician had pregnancy troubles and her sister agreed to be a surrogate.
Sister ended up pregnant with IIRC 3 babies, and the “mother” only wanted one and demanded her sister/surrogate have a “reduction abortion”.
Sister said hell no. Just remember the unspeakable darkness this “physician” was projecting.
Amazing and very cool.
Note that in this heart warming story, Matthew is a baby, not a fetus.
Beautiful!
Thanks for posting!
A guy I used to work with and his wife were expecting a baby girl. She developed some heart problem when the wife was about five or six months along. They had an operation performed on the baby and she was then carried full term. The procedure was very expensive, of course all the liberals at work were outraged because they didn’t just abort the baby and instead, according to them, just raised the insurance premiums on everybody in our group plan. Heartless!
