Grew up within 10 miles of one (CG), had a neighbor who attended the other, and never knew nor cared that there was a rivalry.
It seems I vaguely remember Otto Graham being the coach at Coast Guard for a while back in 70s or 80s, so at least I knew they had a team.

Ugh. Okay, that was a good one.
That one hurts.

Unfortunately, Navy lost it’s QB Worth, and starting slotback Gulley, for the game versus Army. It could get rough.
/Fair disclosure, I’m a CTT3 Navy. Go Navy, BEAT Army!

Think Navy SEAL's then think Rangers, Delta, Special Forces, and Marine Recon. Who is called in first for the most clandestine operations? Then think about how they are all organized around different, often conflicting, missions.

That said, if Navy fielded a team on crutches, Army would probably still lose to them.

When I was at USMA in the early eighties, we lost 3 out 4 to Navy - but at least we had the one win.

The “little ARMY/NAVY game” was Norwich University vs USCGA.

LOL When I played, we didn’t wear padding, not even padded gloves. Still have a crooked finger from a break and various other “stick” scars. At that time, the guys played fully padded. LOLOL

Great game! My son plays. Unfortunately, he started in 6th grade and recruiting is over by 9th grade. He’s really good but needs 10th and 11th to rise to the top. Crazy world. Who recruits freshman? When didnthat start

My granddaughter got a lacross scholarship in the 12th grade. Don’t despair. They are even beginning to play lacrosse in France! In my era in Maryland, one was born with a lacrosse stick in the bassinet.

I feel your pain. 1 - 3 against you guys when I was by the Severn in the late 80s / early 90s.
