Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein told Fox News Neil Cavuto on Wednesday that people walk around with floppy disks in order to hack and reprogram voter machines.
Steinwho is attempting to launch election recount efforts in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to contest Donald Trumps victoryfirst explained the indicators that people looked for when a machine is suspected of being tampered with or having an error.
So the indicators that they look for if they want to see a machine error or a foul play or tampering, you look for a couple of indicators, she said. So one is close race. You also look for an outcome which is the opposite of what was suggested by the polls and the exit polls.

that’s what I was asking!
Somewhere on FR there is a recent - at least during the last 30-45 days - post on this. The old turntable is one of the two “must have” hot gift suggestions this year for Christmas. Took some I have from the late 50’s, early 60’s and framed them in frames specifically sized for them and have them arranged on some of my walls. Wish I had kept my player but who knew.
If they are in good shape and have the original jackets with them they are likely worth some money. Sure some other Freepers will have more info. I’ll see if I can find the other post for you.
Yeah, they got rid of them last year.
I remember those! I used to have a job punching those. Yes. I’m getting old.
“Operator? Get me Western Union. I need to send a telegraph.”
I've got one of these from a different dealer. I found some 3.5" floppies and, based on the labels, I wanted to see what was on them. Nostalgic. It was worth $5 admission.
Also, I made a bunch of copies of "TrumpVictory2016.exe" for all my friends.
Floppy disks went the way of 8 track tapes many moons ago.
Can this loon pass a 51-50 test?
She needs to be placed in protective mental hospital custody for her own good.
As a candidate-—does she have Secret Service protection? Stop wasting the money...
About 25 years ago, I knew a guy who got an old cartridge style hard drive someone was getting rid of. Like the one at the link.
He wanted to take it down into his basement and dissect it. I was as heavy as a medium size fridge. We were wondering why the heck it weighed so much. We put it on its side to see what was underneath. It was a foot square block of lead several inches thick bolted on the bottom to keep the drive steady. We weighed the lead and it was 100 pounds!
She’s gone full moron.
To paraphrase, you never go full moron.
What movie was that? “Full Metal Jacket?”
5.56mm
Well actually they are still in use on a regular basis. A lot of cnc machines use them for program transfers and back up.
She could be alluding to the age of the voting machines. In some areas these might date back to the age of the floppy disk.
BUT, even conceding that possibility to Stein, her alleged floppy disk-carrier would have to have access to every single machine, and mess with each one individually.
Could that kind of machine tampering be done? Seems unlikely to me, because
(1) machines are stored under lock and key between elections, then each one is re-calibrated by a group of election officials just before re-use; and
(2) tampering with each machine would be so labor intensive as to be effectively impractical.
It’s true!
