While a few designers have made news saying they would not dress the future first lady, Carolina Herrera said she'd be honored if Melania Trump wore one of her outfits.
The famed designer spoke about Trump on the red carpet before she received an honor of her own Tuesday night from the Women's Leadership Council at Lincoln Center.
...
But when asked if she would, Herrera said, "Of course I will, as the first lady of this country I will. Of course."
She added, "It is an honor to dress the first ladies of the country and it's something to do for the United States. It's not for myself. It's for the public."

It will be nice to have a first lady not dressed in a purple and brown swirly pattern burlap tank top with orange and hot pink polkadots with A boob belt, while having the entire sycophantic media hyperventillating how super high fashion she is
You have very nice tastes in formal women’s clothing. Feminine designs, both lush and elegant at once. I used to illustrate clothing in retail advertising years ago when print ads were big.
I was one of those artists who could draw it, but was not really interested enough to design anything myself.
Isn’t that stitching a little on the “flashy” side? ;^)
The dog's dinner, for sure.
Melania would look elegant in jeans and a t-shirt.
Yes, their styles are simpatico. In defense of Tom Ford, he did say that Melania's style and his are not similar in response to being asked. Unlike the no-name designer who sent out an unsolicited press release.
Nice to see people with class still around.
.....be nice to see your artwork on FR sometime.......
If I were a clothes designer (which unfortunately I am not), it would be MY pleasure to get that opportunity. ......ah, but I am “old” for a new career.
I could not agree more!
Woof! I think Ann Hathaway is hot. Killer eyes.
She'd look great, would prove a point, and make libs' heads explode.
She is Venezuelan and knows the damage commies can do to a country, that’s why she’d gladly do it.
I don’t know anything about the various designers but this is one who deserves attention and support, not the craptards who say (without ever being invited) that they would not design for Melania.
I’m sure there will be sufficient designers of outstanding quality to provide whatever First Lady Melania would like to wear for the public.
sheesh, what is this, the dress-up barbie thread? lol
Lovely!
“Wait...I thought the liberals and the fashion design community decided they had to boycott our first lady, so as to celebrate diversity or some such thing???”
actually, it was just a couple of “designers” who announced their “boycott”.
Do you have a problem with that?
