The Japanese were completely vicious in WW2.

It is important to remember this when people start whining about us dropping the Bomb on them.

Unit 731. Horrible stuff. But mostly forgiven because of the value of the human medical experimentation results.

And Obama was close to apologizing for atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

The Japs were even worse in China, using plague and biochemical WMDs. They even attempted to balloon and drop plague-infested fleas over the USA.

One of the things that is not mentioned enough about the decision to drop the atomic bomb is the number of allied prisoners of war and civilian internees saved by ending the war quickly.

I have an Australian friend whose mother was Dutch from Sumatra and whose Australian father was captured at the fall of Singapore. Both survived over four and a half years of Japanese captivity. His mother was marched from place to place around Sumatra with other women as they dropped one by one from tropical diseses, malnutrition and bayonetting. Of hundreds of women taken in 1942 she said "several" were still alive at the end of the war and that she doubted any of them would have lasted another month.

Two seemingly civilized and advanced countries...Japan and Germany... were capable of terrible cruelty. Today we have Middle Eastern groups and North Koreans ... and more... who are evil. It does not end and it is not limited to culture or race. We must be ever vigilant.

As recounted (and roughly remembered) in “The Rape of Nanjing” the Chinese wished to kill all male Japanese over the age of 10 use the kids as slave labor until they dies, sterilize all the women and use them as concubines. That was there plan after WWII ended and wanted the US to allow it, but first a Chinese General wanted to visit Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After he saw, he said, “You Americans do good work.” The Chinese then dropped their demand.

The Japanese were completely without morals when it came to their conquered territories and peoples.

Their treatment of POW’s was even worse.
Any captured allied soldier was lucky if they died of their wounds quickly.

Junior Japanese officers were ordered by their superiors to behead perfectly healthy prisoners.
It was to “teach them how lessor species should be treated “,

Some healthy prisoners were killed so that officers could dine on their internal organs, the liver being especially desired.

Since I learned of the way they treated conquered people and military prisoners I have refused to forgive them of their crimes.

At least the Germans took some responsibility of their actions.
The Japs never have and never will.
Sometimes I wish we had possessed enough atomic bombs to turn their homeland into an island of glass.

Then my Christian upbringing kicks in and I relent.

Evil, cruel savages who didn’t get half of what they deserved. Unforgivable.

I, at the time, was maintaining a correspondence with one of my father’s fellow airmen during WWII and he sent me graphic recall of what the Japanese did to POW’s. He said, the Japanese would take a POW and interrogate him. If they wouldn't cooperate, they'd cut them open while they were awake and pull they're entrails out and murder the POW is the most heinous way! That's why I always thought Abu Grab was nothing more than a fraternity prank!

BTW, my father was shot down over Tokyo in 1945, was a POW, and said they were beaten to near death. Like most WWII vets, he didn't talk much about the war.

I celebrate what would have been his 101st birthday today! He was, and will always be, my ULTIMATE HERO!

The Japs...read “The Rape of Nanking” as well as “Unit 731” and you’ll find out about the Japs...

if Jap atrocities in WWII had been broadcast the way the holocaust was, Japan would forever be a third world craphole...

I have Cousins who were captured in the Philippines and spent 3 1/2 years under steady starvation in an internment camp. The Japanese were animals and we should never forget what they and others like them are capable of.

I gave a memorial for one of our heroes on the Enterprise and let their family know how close we were to becoming Japanese slaves. He was on an amazing ship and a true hero.

Pray America woke

Tell the lefties about this the next time they try to say we were such savages for dropping atomic weapons. Let’s see them try to defend it.
