Moon Express is a private company that wants to start offering trips to the moon for £8,000 a ticket.
The company was founded in 2010 by billionaire entrepreneur Naveen Jain and is planning to launch its first unmanned orbital mission next year.
Eventually, it hopes to be sending people to the moon by 2026. So far, Moon Express is the only private company to be granted permission (under US law) to leave Earth and land on the moon. It was given the go-ahead by the US Federal Aviation Administration in August in a move that could open up the space race to new levels.
Moon Express says it will team up with another private company, Elon Musk's SpaceX, to send people there.
"It's very complimentary as a matter of fact
Elon will build the rocket and we do the rover," Jain said...

For $10K, my wife would give it to me as a birthday present. The catch is, it would have to be a one-way ticket. lmao
I knew I was getting old when I heard Julian Lennon's tune "Can't Wait for Goodbye" in Muzak.
Can we get a one way ticket for Harry Reid an Rosie O Donnell?
Wow, what could possibly go wrong??? Dream vacation? Or, nightmare?
Cheaper than First Class on a Singapore Air A380.
It is Peoples’ Express. The stewardess comes down the aisle and collects the fare on the way. That way, they save on airport counter help.
Wait! What?! People need bureaucratic permission to leave the Earth and land on the moon?!?
One can understand national laws governing travel in the airspace over the US in order to get into (or return from) space. And there may be some international laws (agreed to by US treaty) on similar travel in international (over oceans) airspace. But once in space, travelling to the moon (or a planet), and landing on it, should be outside of the jurisdiction of any government on Earth.
That promise has been made for decades.
The closest anyone seriously gets are the balloons that take you to the edge of space.
What do you mean my luggage is on Io?
I
They’ve already built a restaurant on the moon. Great food, but no atmosphere.
There is so much vacationing to do there, cruise ship, water skiing, snow skiing, lawn tennis, ... where do I sign up. /s
Tourist deaths on the Moon will be available in 10 years.
Golf would sell well. A par 5 hole at 2,400 yards.
Not to mention having to take a dump in it.
Let’s buy some one-way tickets for some of our favorite liberals...
MOON ROUND TRIP COST
Energy of Escape Velocity = 811 MJ/kg
Weight of Saturn 5 rocket = 2.8 million kg
Energy in gasoline = 45 MJ/gal
Gravity ratio Earth/Moon = 6
Round trip = 6/6 + 1/6 = 7/6
Average Price Gasoline = $2.181/gal
100 Passengers
o You do the math. I did the research. :-)
It’s $10k to go to the Moon, how much to get back?
Can we crowd fund a Jill Stein ticket for a flight leaving today?
