Officials are conducting an urgent review of the billions of dollars that New York City receives each year from the federal government to identify the streams of money that may be most at risk once President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office.
Mr. Trump, a Republican, has threatened to punish cities that defy his efforts to deport undocumented immigrants, and there is also concern that the Republican-controlled Congress may seek to slash longstanding aid programs.
Theres urgency because the threat seems greater than its been, said Tony Shorris, the first deputy mayor, referring to the effort to identify which programs may be most at risk. Theres also uncertainty because the lack of clarity is much greater than its been.

Hopefully, all of it is at risk.
Obeying federal laws apparently isn’t priority No. 1 for NYC officials.
I love winning. How about you?
LA discovered they might lose 500,000,000 and they were supposed to have started meetings to figure out what to do if anything. This after the chief of police and the mayor made public statements that they would always be a sanctuary city.
All this winning has me exhausted!
No, like many “sanctuary states” the focus is how to translate federal money into a pseudo-economy.
This goes to show that the left had no thought
they were going to lose the election or they
would have considered this already.
Bwhahahahaha.
Embrace the suck, losers!
HO HO HO! Santa Claus no come for New York this year!
Won’t they just cut police and fire budgets?
Sick criminal leftists, rather than simply obey the LAW.
Hmm, that’s quite a dilemma... how to get federal funds without obeying federal laws... hmm... HMMMM!!!
Furthermore, i want the mayors who are refusing to comply with Federal law ARRESTED.
California spends 18 billion a year on services to illegals. Of course, they won’t cut this they will cut services to the taxpayers or raise taxes.
Instead of taxing the hell out of everyone, and then giving them freebies, just eliminate the federal “aid” and cut taxes proportionately. Then fire all the government workers whose jobs are to pass that money back and forth.
Poor kiddies should have worked on making NYC more self reliant instead of taking most of tax revenue from a tiny percentage of the population. That’s another argument against a progressive tax. When the rich leave, everything is gone
De Blasio and his fellow leftists are starting to realize sanctuaries are expensive.
YUP.
If New York wants lavish programs staffed by sinecures, it’s going to have to start doing its own taxation for that.
The rabbit never came free out of the hat. Someone had to buy it and put it in the hat.
Here is an idea NYC. Don’t be a sanctuary city and you don’t have anything to worry about
