NDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- After a winning week for many Carrier workers, Rexnord employees are now in the spotlight.
This tweet from President-elect Donald Trump has workers there wondering about their own jobs.
I prayed, God, just give me something to hold on to, some hope, said Rexnord worker Brian Bousum. Then, he tweeted.
For Rexnord employee Brian Bousum, this late-night tweet from President-elect Donald Trump was a small sign that left room for uncertainty.
He said no more, said Bousum. Does that mean no more after Rexnord? Does it mean hes going to talk to the CEO Todd Adams? Did he try already? I have no clue.

I could see an executive order saying that companies which have their production outside the US get excluded from government contract work.
I was foggily aware of a “buy American” proviso in Federal contracts, but who knows what Big Ears has done with it. Hopefully Donald Trump also knows about that.
The thing is, in the current US business climate, these offshoring decisions by publicly held companies are responsible moves that benefit shareholders. So these companies should not be trashed. They had no way to know that Trump would be elected. Decisions to move out of the US are not made over night. And sweetheart deals for every company who announces they are leaving is crazy — of course, states and cities do that all the time now anyway, to the extent they can. Giving special deals to companies who threaten to leave would just make more companies threaten, to get the same deals.
I could see an executive order saying that companies which have their production outside the US get excluded from government contract work.
Or you give USA made products a huge advantage. Example: Give the USA made product a 15% or more price advantage when selling to the federal government. Our government gives price advantages to minority owned businesses - minorities, women, veteran, disabled, etc. The rules could also apply to businesses with government contracts. This would make a huge difference.
Maybe Trump will save more jobs in a month than Obama did in 8 years!
Eliminate income taxes in favor of a consumption tax and you’ve got your 30% tariffs with WTO blessings.
A consumption tax would _be_ the thing to repatriate funds, tax imports, and build industry in the US.
A post election view of doctrinaire conservatives, for me at least, shows why they have become marginalized.
So in other words, Trump could grab Rexnord by the VAG
Thanks, That was great again!
