Consequences is more than I am willing to support but, if he wants offer incentives, that’s different and I will support that.
Agreed. Make it difficult for companies to leave, and they won’t come in the first place.
The threat of consequence is likely as far as it will go, that and incentives to stay should keep what remains. Not to say Trump is bluffing, he isn’t. And who would want to find out? Carrot and stick.
Exactly right. I objected to "consequences" with the current Narcissist in Chief sitting in the White House and I object to the usage of "consequences" with President Elect Trump (who I voted for.)
I would much rather President Elect Trump address WHY companies are moving off-shore (regulations run amok, confiscatory tax rates, etc..) than threaten companies who are looking to leave.
Again, I voted for President Elect Trump to FIX these problems, not threaten companies. I'm confident he can drive consensus to fix these issues and that's a reason I voted for him!
Money goes wherever it feels welcome, folks.
LOL! The same folks who push the consequences meme never carped about how Obama threatened consequences for those who refused to cooperate in the illegal/un-Constitutional ObamaCare.
Trump's "consequences" are actually a combination of incentives and penalties (tariffs) which make perfect business sense if one actually wants to fight for American Citizens.
Agreed: In a free-enterprise, capitalistic society, the key is not to punish businesses for leaving, but to give them reasons to stay.
Like millions of our taxpayer dollars to carrier? That always works dt.. democrats have been doing it for decades. No wonder the carrier ceo was so grateful. I the millions of taxpayer dollars isn’t a one time credit, I bet. Pay to play, or paid to play I suppose.
