Disgraced former general David Petraeus would have to check in with parole officer before being named secretary of state and he would need to clear ALL work travel in advance

David Petraeus would have three days to check in with his parole officer if Donald Trump picks him to be secretary of state in his administration

Petraeus pleaded guilty to sharing classified information with his mistress

The ex-general was sentenced to two years probation and fined $100,000

Parole deal states he would also have to clear all work travel

Disgraced former general David Petraeus would have to check in with his parole officer before being named secretary of state by Donald Trump.

Petraeus, an ex-four-star general who pleaded guilty in 2015 to sharing classified information with his mistress, Paula Broadwell, is reportedly in the frame to be picked by Trump for the prestigious position.

If he does get the nod from the Donald, Petraeus would have just three days to alert his parole officer about his new job.

The 64-year-old was sentenced to two years' probation and fined $100,000 for sharing classified information with Broadwell.

He would also be required to tell the officer before leaving North Carolina and be subject to warrant-less searches, as well as having all work-related travel cleared in advance, court documents obtained by USA Today reveal.

Being on probation is NOT the same as being on parole.

If nothing else, his sense of ‘judgement’ has to be called to task and in no way should he (or anyone) be ‘rewarded’ for such actions..
AND
‘getting in bed with Kelley=Giffords’ and gun control has no business in a supposed gun friendly admn.

Also one can’t really expect to bury HRC and letting this guy take a walk for virtually the same thing.

Not a question of how much, how long etc just like there is no such thing as being a ‘little pregnant’

I’m with you. Petraeus might have redeemed himself,if, after Benghazi, knowing the truth in his position as CIA Director, he resigned in protest at the lies. Instead, he went along with the lie of Hillary and Obama. And (karma’s a beeotch) still got fired anyhow.

As a retired Army guy, the general officer corps of the last few years, from, say, Wesley Clark till now, has been a disgrace to the uniform.

Not if he gets a pardon...

Protocol. From Dune, "The forms must be observed."

Pardon first, then appoint.

Because it would be a PROBATION OFFICER not a PAROLE OFFICER!!!!! Seems “journalists” can’t get even the basics correct. Probation is given in lieu of incarceration when the offense is minor. Parole is granted when the offense is severe and requires at least some prison time be served. Totally different. In the case of Patreaus there was great reluctance to even bring charges as it was doubtful he actually committed an offense.

"Disgraced"

Hey LEE-UM, "Disgraced" in America is a far cry from say "Disgraced" in Japan. Hey LEE-UM, ya see, He already has been made a Partner at a Huge Investment Firm and Works on the B.O.D.'s +/ or Teaches at several Colleges, Even The University of Exeter in Britain (Shock + Horror, eh LEE-UM? That's got to kill ya), Harvard etc., so your idea of "disgrace" suggesting he's a Dirt Poor P.O.S. w/out anything to contribute to the world at large, doesn't wash in America, after you're been found Guilty, there is always hope, except for Leftist Goons like you. LOL!

In bed with a mistress is one thing, ...

When he also shares classified info with his mistress it's two things.

How much simpler can it be? It’s like justifying the water is wet and flames are hot and because not remotely similar neither should be regarded true?

Ridiculous!!

It’s real simple, we hold ours accountable. He broke the law period. Not just you Johnny come lately trumped up charge either but classified information. He should not be allowed to carry any clearance whatsoever period end of story.

Surely you must see this?

“He broke the law period”

I agree.

Petraeus did break the law.

He admitted his action, plead guilty and was sentenced.

But what he did was nothing in comparison to what Clinton did as Secretary of State.

To pretend they are equivalent is dishonest.

Agree one is definitely severe to the extreme and hopefully her day is coming. Patreus shouldn’t even be in the running or remotely considered it’s just bad imaging all the way around. There are many more qualified without being indicted :-) that includes the unindicted felons too

That’s not my issue with him. My issue is that it’s hard to make a case that Clinton needs to be prosecuted, when you hire somebody for Clinton’s job, who pleaded guilty to doing what you accuse her of doing (albeit to a much smaller degree, but dems don’t see degrees). And Clinton DOES need to be prosecuted.

Petraeus has too much baggage; not worth it.

Bolton or Giuliani are the only options.

Definitely not Romney. He called us “suckers”. Not much different from Hillary calling us “deplorables”.
