Donald Trump has come a long way from the disarray and chaos the media claimed to spy before his transition even got started. Such a long way that its fair to say that Trump is having just about the best 24 hours a president-elect could have.
Two A-plus moves the deal with Carrier to keep 1,000 jobs in Indiana instead of moving them to Mexico, and getting crime-busting US Attorney Preet Bharara to stay on keep faith with the populist themes of Trumps campaign.
He pledged to stand up for workers and stop manufacturing jobs from leaving America. And he pledged to drain the government swamp, which is Bhararas specialty.
For Trump to deliver two huge down payments in one day is remarkable. Imagine what he can do when he is actually president.
The cynics and NeverTrumpers remember them? will be out in force today when Trump takes a highly unusual trip to Indianapolis for the Carrier ceremony.

Thanks for posting. This is a great article by Goodwin.
A must read!
I need a nap. I’m tired from all this winning.
I have not felt this good in a long time!
As far as the Carrier thing, I hope his fix was what he promised: Hit them with a 35% tariff for all products entering the US.
I get the idea that Carrier may be staying for a lot more incentive than punishment - things like extra tax breaks, etc.
And the idea that Carrier has 1000 employees at this location seems low to me. If it’s a remote manufacturing building, then I wouldn’t consider their leaving “Carrier leaving the US”. So I have to assume that this is the headquarters.
1000 people create all of the Carrier products that we all know and love ? Really ?
Are their manufacturing facilities already outside of the US ?
However, I have already seen cynics (all Democrats) and never-Trumpers kibitzing these as very minor and small compared to the problems this country faces. One of them even said that celebrating only 1000 jobs is nothing compared to the 15 million jobs that Obama created during his term.
15 million burger flipping and part time jobs. What a victory.
So this is what its like to have a real president. A guy who knows how to run a large organization. He set a plan. He is hiring a staff. He works 70 hours a week. And he works for America not for himself, not for the party, and not for a lobbyist.
Somewhere I know Reagan is smiling.
He will do great.
Another aspect of this most recent job save, is that other companies will be looking closely at what is happening and perhaps reviewing future plans they might have had to jump ship.
They all want their cake, and they all want to eat it. Trump won’t allow it.
Winning is exhausting.
Democrat Donors Turn on Their Party: Feel Like Their Money GOT BURNED In Hillarys Stunning Loss
Aleister Dec 1st, 2016 9:00 am 43 Comments
Many Democratic Party donors have had it. They fully expected Hillary to win in a landslide. They even thought they might take back the senate and they forked over a lot of cash to make it happen. Now they think it was a big waste and many of them wont be giving the party anymore money any time soon.
The Hill reports:
The best part is the Democrat implosion. I never dreamed they were going to go bonkers quite like this, but now the adults are taking charge to clean up the mess the liberal children have left behind. If there are any mature, responsible Democrats (a stretch to be sure) they better start taking the reins of their party back because they’re in deep trouble.
Carrier is sub to UTX.
Carrier was gonna save 65m a year in moving those two plants to mexico.
UTX has something like 54B, <thats a B, in defense contracts etc.
Simple arithmatic.
Trump to UTX: Nice little Defense contracts you have there. Be a shame if anything happened to them.
Art of the deal.
A very good article by Michael Goodwin. Thanks for posting. BTTT!
: )
It's not personal. It's business.
as far as just a quickie recap of the economic impact of saving 1,000 Carrier jobs on the Indiana economy:
$26.00 per hour x 1,000 employees x 40 hours per week = $1,040,000 payroll per week.
x 50 weeks/year = $52,000,000
economic impact figures that money is turned 6-7 times for a total spending of $338,000,000 per year in Indiana.
by saving only 1,000/ 26 an hour jobs resulting in buying grocerys, autos, appliance, clothes and then those business doing the same will have a massive impact on that area.
imagine similar results/impact with Ford in Kentucky.
that is only in one week & he’s not even in office.
MAGA train rollin through Indiana & Kentucky.
Who will be next?
Win win Win Win sung to the old Meow Mix commercial. Go Trump!
