President-elect Donald Trump broke bread with a fierce critic and now-possible cabinet pick Mitt Romney Tuesday night at Jean Georges Restaurant in Trump International Hotel.
Trump, joined by his chief of staff designate Reince Priebus, sat with Romney at the fancy French eatery in Columbus Circle.
The meeting took place after a weekend of internal strife in his campaign over whether to hire the former Massachusetts governor as Secretary of State.

Romney will flip over to the dems, stab Trump in the back, a lot worse than Colon Bowel was. Dept. State needs a HUGE house cleaning.Rudy is the man.
Why appoint a global, open borders progressive as Sec State?
Big League mistake.
You misspelled 'bigly'. :)
However, note Obama's behavior: He included his biggest enemy in a role where he could watch her. "Keep your enemies closer." When, at first, he didn't want her to succeed him, he sabotaged her with the email stuff. He changed his mind when she professed fealty, but the cat was out of the bag by then.

Agreed, but then Obama never did get in a fox hole with Hillery.
Trump will have to with Romney, and that’s within stabbing distance.
Imagine continuing to have those light weights at State giving pressers and following jingoistic political correctness talking points instead of revealing the truth on international incidents? Pretty sure that’s what we will get with Romney. For some reason Trump may want that. Has me a bit mystified.
You touch on a pet peeve of mine.
I agree with you. Isn’t it interesting that folks blame Romney for his mismanagement, but give full credit for Trump’s win to Kelly Ann Conway.
Trump won because he and nobody else managed his team successfully.
LOL
It’s what he and his team accomplish, that we’ll judge him by.
I don’t want Romney. We’ll see how it goes.
Yep, and a good part of that was hiring the right people.
Sometimes Trump had to replace who he worked with initially (e.g., because Conway was already “taken” when he approached her the first time), but eventually he got it right in time to win.
So though I fervently hope he doesn’t pick Romney to start as SoS I think Trump will at least correct the error before too far into his administration if he does.
Really, Romney’s long involvement with unsavories like Mike Murphy and Stewart Stevens ought to further disqualify him from the start, but so it goes, I guess.
I really like the idea of the dark horse Gen. Kelly.
I don’t know the first thing about Kelly.
Your other comments are good.
I wouldn’t term it Trump “eventually getting it right”. He wanted Kelly and got her when she was available.
I would say Christie underperformed running the transition effort, but got replaced and it is going smootly now.
I agree.
Trump doesn’t take long to figure it out does he.
Willard does not look very much at ease.
In my opinion, I do think PE Trump is talking with Romney about his business holdings.
I was just thinking that Trump may want his children to work closely with him in governmental/advisorial positions....not that his children couldn’t run his businesses.
But with Romney there...Trump could effectively say that he was not involved with his business while he is president.
And Romney should be efficient at that job.
