“Well I was incredibly disappointed to see the President-elect nominate Congressman Price to serve as Secretary of Health and Human Services this morning
“When it comes to issues like Medicare, the Affordable Care Act and Planned Parenthood, Congressman Price and the average American couldn’t be further apart
“Between this nomination of an avowed Medicare opponent to serve as HHS Secretary and Republicans here in Washington threatening to privatize Medicare, it’s clear that Republicans are plotting a war on seniors next year
“Every senior and every American should hear this loudly, and clearly: Democrats will not let them win that fight.
“After the 2004 elections, Republicans tried to take the rug out from under our seniors to privatize Social Security. After the 2016 elections, it seems they’re intent on trying the same trick on Medicare.
“Just as their efforts failed then, they will fail now.
“Democrats from blue states, purple states, and red states are going to link arm and arm to protect Medicare for our seniors, and ensure that Republicans don’t succeed in putting our seniors’ health care at risk
“As we have said many times, there will be issues where we can work with the President-elect and his party.
“Privatizing Medicare is not one of those issues.
“We are going to fight tooth and nail any attempt to privatize, voucherize, or any other “ize” you can think of when it comes to Medicare.
“To Republicans considering going down this path, my advice is simple: turn back.”

This f#%&er had no problem voting for an ObamaCare bill even though it included $500 billion in Medicare cuts over ten years.
Donald Trump says he’s not touching Medicare or Social Security.
That would be Paul Ryan who should just shut up and sit down. ObamaCare and the border and trade deals are far bigger fish to fry right now.
Even if the Trump deal pans out BETTER for them in the end. Schumer wants the nanny state arrangement.

Schumer, you are a butthole. Here’s what the war on seniors is, Obama-style: collude with the Fed and the banks to deny Social Security-receiving seniors a COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) raise for three of the eight years of Obama’s presidency, a departure from past Republican and Democratic administrations. This also affects federal and postal retiree annuity checks. People retire expecting a certain amount of income, then you change the rules. The COLA for 2017 is a piddling .3 percent which statistics say will give seniors three dollars a month more in their checks, on average, while medical deductions are skyrocketing (my monthly increase for the medical deduction is four times the projected monthly COLA, which does not bode well for long-term projection of future costs.)

Old UpCHuck Schumer wants to wage a war on seniors, scaring them to death about taking their Medicare away. Let’s hope the GOPe wimps don’t just sit their sucking their thumbs as usual and will instead make the point that the Dems want 11 million-20 million illegals and Muslim”refugees” to be covered by Medicare and Medicaid, and it will be broke in less than 10 years, so no one will have coverage. That’s why someone who has a working brain has to try to come up with a solution, and we certainly can trust Dr. Price’s judgment more than Schumer’s.
