Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the Turkish Army has entered Syria to end the rule of Syrian President Bashar Assad, whom the accused of terrorism and causing the deaths of thousands of Syrians.
"We entered [Syria] to end the rule of the tyrant al-Assad who terrorizes with state terror. [We didn't enter] for any other reason," the Turkish president said at the first Inter-Parliamentary Jerusalem Platform Symposium in Istanbul, as quoted by Hurriyet daily.
Erdogan said that Turkey has no territorial claims in Syria, but instead wants to hand over power to the Syrian population, adding that Ankara is seeking to restore "justice."
"Why did we enter? We do not have an eye on Syrian soil. The issue is to provide lands to their real owners. That is to say we are there for the establishment of justice," he said.

Looks like he's doing what ever he wants right now by going in to Syria. That "dog collar" isn't working.
>Turkey, a member of Nato then calls for Nato Article 5 (?) to have Nato comes to its aid and voila!
Hopefully Trump would tell them to pound sand and we then join with Russia to bomb turkey back to the days of mohamhead.
Read the article, looks like Turkey sent ground forces into Syria last August, had to withdraw air support for those troops in October. Non-story.
This member of NATO(?) wants to start WWIII?
note what happened in libya when Gaddafi was murdered...
Exactly the model I had in mind, one of many from the Arab "spring" that turned out to be more of a winter.
“Whats his long range goal?”
New Caliphate.
Revived Ottoman Empire (recovery from fatal head wound).
End Times.
Basically all the worst parts of the Bible.
Or is this the Russians making sure they keep their bases in Syria secure, and making sure there is no pipeline to Europe that allows Europe to get crucial fuel from someone other than the Russians. Remember Russia now supplies Europe with oil. They also threaten to cut the supply off periodically to get their way.
It will not be a Turko-Syrian War. It will devolve into a Turko-Russian war. Or a Truko-Syrian-Egypto-Russian-Lebanese War. This could get really bad—really fast. Trump may well have to use all his skills to solve this problem and maybe win the Nobel Peace Prize as well. A Prize he will earn.
Wouldn’t that be great. Kurdistan spread out across the northern borders of Turkey, Iraq, and Iran, all who have conquered and occupied Kurdistan in the past. There’s a lot of oil in Kurdistan also.

Anticipation of spares and replacement planes I suspect.
Whats his long range goal?
needs a natural gas pipeline through Syria
It’s my personal preference to avoid wild animals while they’re fighting over food and territory. Very unpredictable.
First comes corruption. Then comes war. Since the dawn of history.
Look ppl, we all need to put our heads together and come up with a compelling Leftist argument to volunteer for Assad. Political emissary or front line fighter. Like the Left supporting and volunteering with the Spanish Nationalists (communists) in the ‘30s.
Drain the swamp.
These things are cyclical. Just go with it.
“We entered [Syria] to end the rule of the tyrant al-Assad”
Sounds like a declaration of war.
This is aggression on his part, outside of NATO. He will have to deal with Syria, the Kurds, The Russians, and the Iranians on his own.
The Gulf Arabs will probably send money, but when push comes to shove, the Turks are out on a limb by themselves.
Where are the end of times prophecy guys, with Gog and Magog squaring off over a hot battlefield?
It doesn't work in case of aggressive wars. Anyway, haven't Putin and Erdogan become good pals recently ?
This article comes from RT and the whole FR’s brigade of Putin's fanboys express unhealthy excitement so likely it's all BS.
however, the Turks would then proceed to kill off the 10% to 20% of Syrians who are Christians
Turkey v/s Iran dates from the 12th century when the Turkic peoples slaughtered millions of Iranis. It continued through the genocides of Timur-E-Lang and the centuries of war between the Ottomans and the Safavids.
