I live just south of Milwaukee and still have my provisional ballot. I have it framed on my wall. I live in Ryan’s district and on my ballot you can see I voted for Trump, and against Ryan. I’ll scan it and post it. I think it’ll be quite the collectors item some day.

MEMO: Pennsylvania’s Red State Status

November 27, 2016Filed in News, Press Releases

11

DATE: November 27, 2016

TO: Interested Parties

FROM: PA GOP Chairman Rob Gleason

RE: Pennsylvania’s Red State Status

On November 8th, 2016, Donald Trump made history when he turned Pennsylvania red for the first time since 1988. In addition, Pennsylvania Republicans helped re-elect U.S. Senator Pat Toomey and 13 Congressmen as well as expand our majorities in the State Senate and State House.

In recent days, Green Party candidate Jill Stein has decided to launch baseless attacks against the integrity of Pennsylvania’s election system as well as the elections held in two other battleground states. Sadly, the legal counsel for the Clinton campaign signaled they would take part in any recount efforts initiated by Dr. Stein’s despite Secretary Clinton’s statement during the campaign.

Thus, as two failed campaigns continue to question the results of Pennsylvania’s historic election, the Republican Party of Pennsylvania would like to add a few critical points to the discussion.

The Results of the Presidential Election Did Not Trigger Pennsylvania’s Automatic Recount Statute Because The Margin Of Victory Was So High.

Per the provisions of the Pennsylvania Election Code at 25 P.S. 3154(g)(1), “The secretary shall order a recount and recanvass to all county boards if…a candidate for a public office which appears on the ballot in every election district in this Commonwealth was defeated by one-half of a percent or less of the votes cast for the office.”

With 100% of the precincts reporting, Mr. Trump defeated Secretary Clinton by 1.17% (a margin of victory of 70,638 votes) – more than double the threshold for an automatic recount. Dr. Stein was defeated by 47.98 % by President-Elect Trump, and as such it is clear that she does not have a good faith basis to challenge the results She is clearly serving as a stalking horse for the Clinton campaign that once again will not take responsibility for its actions.

PA GOP Voter Registration Surged In 2016, With New Registrants And Party Switchers.

Pennsylvania Republicans realized a net gain of 318, 585 new registrations between since Election Day 2015.

Fueling our growing Party was a historic surge of Democrats who decided to switch their voter registrations to the PA GOP. In total, 110, 264 Democrats switched to the Republican Party since January 1st of this year, compared to less than 46,000 Republican-to-Democrat switchers. This phenomenon garnered national media attention throughout the year.

The four counties that voted for Obama in 2012 but switched and voted for Trump in 2016 followed the statewide pattern of voters moving to the Republican party and candidate this year. For example, the Luzerne County GOP gained more than eleven times as many new voter registrations as its Democrat counterpart from Election Day 2015 to Election Day 2016 (11,759 GOP registrations to 1,051 Democrat registrations).

The Pennsylvania Secretary of State Certified Publicly that the Commonwealth’s Voting Systems are Secure

See the attached October 20, 2016 Statement issued by Secretary Cortes.

He also stated clearly that: “The Department of State and the counties take very seriously their responsibility to ensure fair, secure and smooth elections. We are confident the November election will meet those high standards; as it has been the case in years past.”

Ms. Clinton and Ms. Stein should heed the words of Secretary Cortes, who said: “To imply that fraud is rampant – at any level – from the precinct-level to an entire city or state – is without merit and lacks any credence or proof within the modern history of elections in this country or commonwealth.

Even The Obama Administration Knows Trump Won.

According to Politico, the White House issued a terse statement when asked about the Stein/Clinton recount efforts, stating, “We stand behind our election results, which accurately reflect the will of the American people.”

After mocking Republicans’ open and transparent push for election integrity, it’s sad to see a major candidate such as Hillary Clinton plunge our electoral system into an unnecessary controversy just because she didn’t win.

It is far past time for the Commonwealth and the nation to move past the Clinton era as we work together to Make America Great Again.

Failing in Philly:
As of noon Monday, the Philadelphia city Board of Elections had received petitions for 35 of the 1,686 voting divisions in Philadelphia, according to City Commissioner Al Schmidt. He’s spoken with organizers who expect another 15 to be filed. That means that only about 50 of the 1,686 voting divisions in Philadelphia, or about 3 percent, would be recounted as a part of Stein’s effort.

Only the precincts where they can stuff more ballots will be counted.

Don't be surprised if Philly alone comes up with +10,000 votes for Hillary.

The laws against frivolous recounts are also worthless: they'll simply venue shop to find a compliant judge and get a court order to force a recount.

They are really trying to steal the election, and we had better wake up and smell the sewage backing up out of the Democratic Party cesspool.

Thanks for starting this thread. Here’s a news item:

Official: Trump could object to Michigan recount request

LANSING — A requested recount in Michigan is not automatically granted, even if the required fees are paid, and President-elect Donald Trump would have the right to object to a recount requested by Green Party candidate Jill Stein, with the Board of State Canvassers deciding the issue, an election official said Monday.

Dates for objections and hearings could push the start of any recount well into December.

Assuming Michigan’s election results are certified by the board at a meeting in Lansing at 2 p.m. today, Stein would have until Wednesday to request a recount.

Trump then would have seven days to file written objections to the recount, Secretary of State spokesman Fred Woodhams told the Free Press.

The Board of State Canvassers would then hold a hearing on the objections and would have to issue a ruling within five days of the hearing.

“If the objections are overturned by the board, the recount can commence after the second business day following the issuance of the board’s decision,” Woodhams said.

Scott Hagerstrom, director of the Trump campaign in Michigan, said “all options will be open and pursued,” “but it’s hard to speculate until a recount is requested.”

“We just have to wait and see,” Hagerstrom said.

Attorney Mark Brewer, a former chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party, confirmed Monday he has been retained by the Stein campaign. He is expected to address the Board of State Canvassers at Monday’s meeting.

The Board of State Canvassers has four members. By law, two are Republicans and two are Democrats.

Though it’s possible a recount request, objections, and the issuance of a decision could happen more quickly than the maximum times allowed by law, the time frames set out in Michigan statute could push the start of any recount back to around Dec. 15, only four days before the Electoral College is set to meet on Dec. 19. Those times also do not include any potential court challenges.

The campaign for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton said Saturday night it will participate in a recount of votes after Stein officially requested a recount on Friday in Wisconsin and has promised to do the same in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Both the Michigan Republican Party and the campaign for Trump, who holds a 10,704-vote lead over Clinton in the state, also are looking for volunteers to be observers of the hand recount that would take place in the 83 counties where the votes were cast.

Under state law, a recount is only automatic if a statewide election has a differential of 2,000 votes or less. In cases where a recount is not automatic, “an opposing candidate,” such as Trump, “may file objections to the recount petition.”

Sarah Anderson, a spokeswoman for the Michigan Republican Party, said Monday the party is prepared to participate in any challenge.

The Michigan Secretary of State’s office said Saturday it is researching how federal law affects the timeline to complete a recount, but it anticipates that a recount would have to be done before Dec. 19, when the electoral college, including the 16 people who make up Michigan’s, meets to cast its votes for president.

To cover the cost, Stein, as the person requesting the recount, will have to pay $125 per precinct – 6,300 in Michigan – for a cost of $787,500. She’s raised more than $6 million toward a $7 million goal to pay for the three recounts, as well as legal costs anticipated to accompany the process.

A recount would continue what has become a stunning election cycle in which Clinton was the favorite in nearly all the polls leading up to Nov. 8, only to be beaten by the controversial New York businessman, who tapped into a vein of discontent voters looking for a change in Washington, D.C.

A recount also could focus on the under-count tallies, in which more than 84,000 voters didn’t vote for anyone for president, which is about twice the number of people who didn’t vote for the top spot on the ballot in 2012.

But a couple of factors could be attributed to that under-count, said election law attorney John Pirich. First, both Trump and Clinton had high unfavorable numbers in polls before the election. Trump’s were at 56% while Clinton’s were at 54%, according to a compilation of polls kept by the website Real Clear Politics.

So, it’s reasonable to assume that the number of people who didn’t vote for either Trump or Clinton would go up in 2016, Pirich said.

In addition, write-in votes were counted only for the seven people who registered with the state as write-in candidates by mid-September. So any write-in votes for candidates like U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, the Democrat who beat Clinton in Michigan’s presidential primary, or vice presidential pick Mike Pence or many other names that could have been written in weren’t included in the final presidential election results.

I’m quite sure those laws are for sharing them at the polling place. Those laws have never been enforced because they are almost surely unconstitutional. I have a hard time believing someone would arrest me for scanning my ballot at home and sharing it.
