Double meaning. A Syrian military photographer, nicknamed "Caesar" supposedly smuggled photos of tortured/murdered bodies of Syrian civilians.

Also, a subconscious reference to when the Roman Republic gave dictatorship powers to certain areas, Caesar being one of the more famous of these dictators.

Really bad choice of title if you ask me; horrible legislation as well.

Another insufferable knee-jerk, lmousine, bleeding heart liberal from New York. Except, of course, when it comes to Israel. Then he’s a neo-con chicken-hawk.

Yep, same goes for his open borders position. Here in the U.S. he pushes for open borders and third-world immigration. In Israel not so much, like zero tolerance. One of the towns in Eliot's district, Scarsdale, is < 2% black and < 3% Hispanic. But I'm sure Eliot thinks multiculturalism is good for Kansas.

Israel is neutral in the Syrian war, but they seem to feel they’re safer as long as the conflict continues, since neither side has any time to target them while it’s going on.

Our position should be what it was on the Iran/Iraq war...keep the war going on as long as possible until both sides bleed each other dry. Send arms to both sides if need be.

Coincidentally that's also the devil's position and neccesarily the antithesis of the Christian position. But if people are not overly concerned with the eternal destiny of their immortal soul, I still don't get how they can believe that other people being slaughtered somehow enhances them or makes them more secure? And what makes the whole thing so much more obscene is that the war agitators almost always push for more war under the guise of humanitarianism. So consummately wicked.

Thanks, now I see.

I agree, it's hard to think otherwise. Usually, a bill is named after the person who has proposed it, what has made we wonder who was the Caesar of the United States. :)

Enacted in 90 days?
They still can’t understand how Hillary didn’t win the election so maybe they’re “thinking” she will “win the recount” and hence this legislation will be ready for her when she steps up to her throne?
They still fall for their own propaganda but I suspect they will be disappointed (again).

Are the Republicans trying to make as big a mess as they can to present to The Hated Trump? We may have the right guy at the top but alas, the Congress is still full of Republicans who will be a major stumbling block to any corrections he might try to make. Democrats, too, but they are not really that important now.

I dont like the idea of a no fly zone becouse it only works when you are dealing with a airforce greatly inferier then your own and when you are dealing with a military that can stand against your own and when the leadership is militarly ventursom it can lead to an all out shooting war. I think it is fool hardy to tell he rusians that we will shoot down its planes. tis is akin to kennedy doing a blocade on cuba it can esisly spin out of controle.

The resolution calls for intensifying already harsh sanctions on Syria, assessing implementation of No Fly Zone in Syria and escalating efforts to press criminal charges against Syrian officials.

So, we're going to starve their civilians in the name of defending them and start another world war? Trump's inauguration can't get here soon enough.

I always refer to him as Rep. Eliot Engel (D-Israel).

I don't like the idea of a no-fly zone because the U.S. has no business imposing this kind of sh!t on a foreign country.

A nation that meddles in the affairs of other sovereign nations this way has no reason to complain when the World Trade Center is reduced to rubble.

McCain’s “heroes” turned out to be ISIS. Did they fool him or is he that stupid? Obama has armed ISIS. How did Paul Ryan allow this? “What give the United States any moral or legal authority to dictate aircraft activity over another sovereign country?” This is an act of war.
Gen. Joseph Dunford testified before Congress: “right now, Senator, for us to control all of the airspace in Syria it would require us to go to war, against Syria and Russia.”

WTF!? Surely this won't be able to pass in the senate? But then there are a few repub senators that would join with dems (McStain et.al) This is madness!

Rinos have more than proven during the Obama administration they are owned by globalist.

I agree with you this can be interpreted as an act of war... we should never do or say anything that we are not willing to pay the price to do and I don’t think anyone in the white house has thought of the long term ramifications if we end up shooting down a Russian plane we have not even thought of the short term ramifications.

Yes, amazing isn’t it, how some of the strongest supporters of Israel in Congress are open border types while fully approving the exceptionally restrictive immigration policies of Israel?
Quite the hypocrites.

Many more like him in Congress. He very strongly dis-spells the myth the liberal Congressional Jews aren’t fervent supporters of Israel.

Engel isn’t a neo-con. He’s a liberal. Seriously, stop posting and learn what words mean.
