Of course his supporters feel betrayed. Trump gained no ground with this stunt. Same with calling Obummer a great man and not wanting to hurt the Clintons.

I wish Ms Conway would be more private about all this inside baseball. The gratuitous exhibitionism of a Reality Showman is evident. The public doesn’t need to observe, scene by scene, how the sausage is going to be made. Just make the decisions, and be quick about it! This ‘dirty laundry display’ only helps to educate Donald’s enemies in how his Administration is going to operate.

Feh. If Trump is considering him, he has his reasons. Whether it’s for show or because he has something to bring to the table that outweighs other considerations. Trump is there. Trump is going to be Trump. I have no idea what that is going to be, but it’ll be better thanHillary, and certainly couldn’t be worse.

I can’t stand Romney, but as long as Trump follows through on The Wall and deportations, anti-Muslim actions and economic and military strength I can put up with a little stink. After all, Trump isn’t afraid to fire people.

Nail meet coffin.

Conway also questioned Romney’s credentials for the job.

“Gov. Romney in the last four years, I mean, has he been around the globe doing something on behalf of the United State of which we’re unaware? Did he go and intervene in Syria where they’re having a massive humanitarian crisis?” Conway asked. “Has he been helpful to Mr. Netanyahu?”

Conway’s comments continued the public bashing of Romney that has been playing out, with top surrogates like Mike Huckabee and Newt Gingrich also going after the former Massachusetts governor. The spectacle has made it less likely that Romney will land at Foggy Bottom come January.

“I’m all for party unity, but I’m not sure that we have to pay for that with the Secretary of State position,” Conway said. “We don’t even know if Mitt Romney voted for Donald Trump.”

And she wasn’t done yet.

Later, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Conway continued to make the case against Romney.

“People feel betrayed to think that Governor Romney, who went out of his way to question the character and the intellect and the integrity of Donald Trump, now our president-elect, would be given the most significant cabinet post of all, Secretary of State,” Conway told host Chuck Todd.

“They feel a bit betrayed that you can get a Romney back in there after everything he did.”

I think we can safely say that allowing Kellyanne to appear on the Sunday News shows with this message that Mitt is done.

Romney would have been good working for McCain or even Odumbi ....

but this is a big Country and we have tens of millions of qualified folks that are not inYourFace lying hypocrites.

Gen Mattis, no better friend no worse enemy, seems like a new good motto for State.

Romney would NOT be my first choice - or my 50th choice - BUT if Trump chooses him I’ll trust his judgement.

Trump's consideration of Romney was likely a head-fake all along. He was just using Romney, never had any intention of appointing him to State. It's not a nicey-nice way of dealing with people. But of course Romney himself was not nice.

Trump as a successful businessman knows backhanded moves, and he's going to use them. This is nothing new for politicians - and if Dem whiners claim such behavior is beneath the dignity of the presidency, then they don't know their own presidential history (JFK & LBJ, just to cite two vert dirty dealers).

Kellyanne saying this speaks volumes to what Donald is catching from his movement.

She wouldn’t be saying this unless Donald’s supporters need it to be heard nationally.

And Kellyanne will never quit and never be fired. She’s as smart and effective as they come. This portends Romney being denied SOS. That’s good news for us.

If Romney gets dissed, I think he will consider ways to get behind the recounts. He’s a snake.

I hope so. I don’t see him being loyal to Trump.

I’m hoping Trump is making Mittens dance on a string for him and at the right moment will dash his hope forever. Payback.

It is one thing to mend fences. However, M. Romney went too far over the line. Romney never went after B. Obama to that extent.

It doesn't really matter who Mr. Trump chooses. The next SofS will be nothing more than an errand boy going to our "allies" and "friends" and saying pay up for all the defense you've received for free.

There will be no muslim outreach programs and Afghanistan and Iraq can kiss our ass goodbye.

i was shocked by Romney’s attacks on Trump - however, to invite someone for consideration and then savage him in the press is not presidential and diminishes the office. it reminds me of when Rosie ambushed Tom Selleck. not a fan and find it ugly. make the damn decision, already.

As a regular viewer of The Apprentice, I know that Trump hates disloyalty. Romney is out there only to placate the MSM, he will never be chosen.

I think this was all Kabuki theater. Sure, ‘consider’ Romney, but why would you ever bring a backstabber into your cabinet?
