Let California Go
American Thinker ^ | November 27, 2016 | Robert Oscar Lopez

When people speak of Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote, they are really speaking about California. In that state, Hillary Clinton won 6,621,346 votes to Donald Trump's 3,549,576 as of this writing. This margin of over three million votes alone accounts for any claim that Clinton exceeded Trump in popular support.

Consider some numbers. In New York, Trump won 37.5% of the vote; in New Jersey, Trump won over 40%; and in Illinois, Trump won 39.4%. Among sizably populated states that lean "overwhelmingly" Democrat, California is in a class by itself. Trump struggled to get even a third of Californian votes.

Moreover, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois differ markedly from California because their tilt toward the Democrats happens on a very different landscape. New York and Illinois are pushed into deep blue territory by singular metro areas (NYC and Chicago), which overpower small-town areas ("upstate" or "downstate") where Republicans gather in strong numbers. New Jersey is wedged between the Democratic machine cities of Philadelphia and New York City and has a smattering of medium-sized urban centers with large black populations.

Only in California does one find a vast state with a huge population (nearly 40 million people) with multiple sprawling metro areas that all lean strongly Democratic or, at best (in the case of San Diego), just libertarian enough to be less than completely left wing. The San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Palm Springs, Long Beach, etc. stretch across miles and miles of a complex and diverse landscape, hosting a stunning multiplicity of races and ethnicities. Yet everywhere you go in the state, you seem to find Democrats or Republicans who just don't strike you as all that conservative.

California is a different country.

California banished Electoral rule long ago, all the rural counties lost State representation and the State became a liberal dictatorship.

It then turned from being the 7th largest economy in the world to bankruptcy.

Now having a little taste of liberalism crammed down your throat by Hammy and the gang, I would have thought you might have a bit of sympathy for the hard working men and women that made California great in the first place, and are still trapped behind the lines.

Messyco is smiling at all this talk of letting California (what the reconquistas call Aztlan) go.

“The republic of californication can have a narrow strip of coast with no fresh water, no military to speak of, and no future.”

Minus, the California Valley, the incredible food growing basket for California, the USA and the world. The green micro farmers along the Coast will not be able to feed the LaRaza aka LA area.

We keep California because we built California up from the wilderness. I don’t care what the children of illegal aliens who hate America want. All that needs to be done is saturation bombing of San Francisco and LA with incendiaries à la Dresden and the problem is solved. When the fire dies down then round up the survivors, put the.on a train, and ship them to Mexico

The wife and I just had a conversation about this post.

You said what people think. But most are too PC to actually say it.

But that is ultimately what needs to happen. Mexico has no right to seize our property. They have no right to cross dress themselves as "the Americans" and simply take what they could not build.

It was in their hands for a few minutes between 1769 and 1846. They did nothing with it, characteristic for them. They had claimed it for 300 years prior and done nothing.

They don't have the society or the genetics to do it. If we're wrong on that, explain 500 years of abject failure called "Mexico".

I grew up in Arizona and I can remember when not a word of Spanish was heard except in the tiny barrios of South Tucson and they were maybe 10% of the total population which was overwhelmingly White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. Midwesterners and Southerners who settled the West. Not the detritus of the remnant Spanish Empire.

So there it is folks. The people in California voting in the federal elections are NOT Americans. They have NO RIGHT to make ANY decision for the rest of the U.S.

And it is as noted here...we are to the point in this state where the rest of the country should really consider just declaring war.

We had a civil war over sovereignty once before. Only this time, it's over whether a foreign power has the right to invade and simply take over.

Think the conclusion about what to do about that is obvious. These are the United States, not Alta Califas plus some vassal states whose sole purpose is to provide cash to support the takeover.

5) Citzenship ? likely to be negotiated, but there are currently millions of US citizens that hold dual citizenship. A non-issue. When one closely examines Calexit, the deal breakers are mostly red herrings

That last one would be a deal-breaker for me: I regard dual citizenship as an atrocity.

Anyone opting for CA should be stripped of his U.S. citizenship.

The real difference was probably the illegals and dead voting in California

And you KNOW that in South Central Los Angeles, it's on the order of 1 million illegal votes.

They think they deserve to vote, and the Brown gang is right there with them. NO ONE is going to check on all those motor voter registrations, least of all Loretta Lynch and John Comey.

Even without illegals voting in California Hillary still wins that state comfortably. What do you expect from a state that voted to ban plastic bags?

I am always stunned how many people would get rid of CA if they had the chance. We are talking about the best land in the country. Best growing land, best weather, near best mineral wealth. If half the people that talk about ridding themselves of CA, instead moved here and fought with us behind enemy lines, we could take this state back.

That being said, if CA does succeed I plan on invading immediately. I figure a sharpened stick, or a board with a nail in it should do.....the only question is, when I win, do I reunite with the good ole USA, or finally stand up Angrywhitemenistan?

PS, everyone should remember who the guy in charge of voting in California is:

Alex Padilla, Secretary of State of the State of California

The Real American, just interested in seeing the Vote of Americans is Honestly Counted.

whether you agree or disagree, it’s the current situation. you also realize that having dual citizenship doesn’t prevent Americans from getting the highest security clearance ?

After 9/11, The Bush WH wanted to prevent any dual national from getting security clearance; but it turned out there were so many dual nationals working in the Bush WH, the idea was quietly shelved. I suspect in the Obama WH it was even worse.

crazy but true.

Absolutely no dual citizenship. We do not want them voting in our elections, otherwise what’s the point?

Those hard working men and women should flee to the US before the secession.

After it's a done deal, those are the people who when seeking asylum will pass the vetting process.

“The Democrat left knows that replacing Americans with 3rd world imports guarantees that they will win every election. Why Republicans and what little remains of non-left Democrats stand back and watch this happen is one of life’s little mysteries.”

FOLLOW THE $$$. Yes, it’s that simple, on both sides of the isle.

“Who REALLY cares if they do go?”

Every American should care, including you.

If you don’t care, you don’t understand the gravity of such a move on the entire country. I’m a proud Southerner, but not for one moment do I believe that Lincoln made the wrong decision in insisting that the Union be kept together. I absolutely believe that he had no choice but to do so by force.

THAT is why you should care.

I can think of hundreds of ways that this could go wrong if we accepted your “who cares” premise.

It is your sort of passive-aggressive nonsense that is most caustic to the Union. Use your head, man. It’s a bad idea to let ANY state flirt with secession.

allow all the western states to form “Leftconson” and we can build a wide mote in the fashion of the Panama canal.

This crap will continue until those who currently favor it see that it’s a very bad idea. That can be achieved without the extreme measures you are proposing.
