My son and I were discussing the current lack of inclusion of adequate history in the school curriculum. Of course when I was in grade school we covered 200 years of American History. Now that would be 275 years and so much more changed and we have so much more information about the last 75 years which kids need to know about.
Since history does repeat itself, it is my feeling that all grades need to include at least two hours a day to that subject. Unfortunately I doubt if there are enough knowledgeable teachers to meet the need.
