Before traveling, Sheriff Champagne admitted he had the wrong impression about the pipeline based on what he called sensational news reports that the pipeline was to run directly through the Standing Rock Reservation and disturb ancient burial grounds.

"I quickly learned and saw for myself that this was untrue."

Upon his return to Louisiana, Sheriff Champagne shared his North Dakota experience in a lengthy post to his Facebook page. The full post has also been transcribed below.

I learned first that the pipeline project, which has been in the works for several years, will traverse four states including North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Illinois carrying crude oil. I was surprised to learn that a natural gas pipeline is already underground on the same right of way. The DAP has received all federal approvals over several years and, litigation which attempted to stop it in the federal courts has been resolved. Despite this project being very "federal" in nature and clearly in interstate commerce, the Obama administration has refused to provide any law enforcement or other support to North Dakota state and local law enforcement that has placed them in the position of having to enforce the rule of law. As usual, law enforcement is put between the rock and hard place due to various political agendas."

"As usual, law enforcement is put between the rock and hard place due to various political agendas."

THAT way, those who get the holy PIE beaten out of them for refusing to disperse, stop throwing rocks, or whatever, can blame the THIN BLUE LINE for all their problems.
MUCH easier and more fun for them.

Follow the money. The oil is currently being carried by trucks and rail. George Soros owns the rail that carries the oil. If a pipeline is built, Soros stands to lose hundreds of millions in transportation fees. The protestors are being paid by George Soros.

A voice of reason. It’s good to hear his personal experience and the facts. Thanks.

I thought it was Warren Buffet that owned the rail lines carrying the oil.
Anybody remember this one?

DUNSMUIR, Calif. — It’s been nearly 20 years since a Northern California chemical spill turned into the largest inland environmental disaster in state history. It happened when a train derailed near Dunsmuir and thousands of gallons of herbicide spilled into the Upper Sacramento River.

One of the best trout and steelhead runs in the nation.

What do people base their impressions of the Midwest off of? Comics like Superman are not neccessarily all that up to date.

“The protesters are being paid by George Soros.”

Wotta surprise. Who knew?

Probably a LOT of officials high in government circles were aware of the clandestine support of the international Soros financial octopus, but they either will not, or are too paralyzed, to act in any meaningful way.

It is not just the aspect of being forced to truck the oil, or ship it in tank cars, it is the artificial restriction on the absolute QUANTITY of the oil that can be transferred to national commerce. Restrictions on the means to transport the oil translates into lower supply and higher prices for the consumer.

And there is a mindset that wants to keep the price of oil high, as a way of rationing it by price.

Kelcy Warren, the CEO of Energy Capital Partners, gave 50-thousand dollars to a Paul Ryan PAC.

Barack Obama is enabling this little pipeline too, after killing the larger Keystone XL pipeline on a different route.

I don’t call it the “Dakota Access Pipeline”, I call it the “Paul Ryan-Barack Obama Pipeline”, a testament to crony capitalism and the buying of Corporatist Uniparty politicians by special interests.

The protestors are becoming angry and descending into Democrat partisanship, no doubt because Democrat operatives are there to exploit it.

FBI informants are already peppered in the ranks of the DAPL protest, no doubt, doing the mischief of inciting people like they always do when they show up.

In the Oregon Standoff earlier this year Republican Party operatives showed up around the protest and tried to shut down Ammon Bundy and after Ammon was arrested, they claimed that David Fry and those left at the refuge were interested in violence when they were not.

FBI informants also interfered with the protest and tried to give it a militant tinge.

The greatness of Dr. Martin Luther King was that he was able to overcome the political machine, the FBI informants and nonviolently resist, forcing the Democrat Party to cave into passing laws to end the reign of Jim Crow in the South and racial discrimination everywhere in this country.

I hope this protest in North Dakota can be a nonviolent one in the end, but there are agitators on the ground who I have no control over.

... the Obama administration has refused to provide any law enforcement or other support to North Dakota state and local law enforcement that has placed them in the position of having to enforce the rule of law.

I'd like to publicly invite the Sheriff back to North Dakota in February to see that this continues to be true.

I wonder how many existing crossing points (oil pipelines across rivers, lakes, and streams) there are in the US. Thousands?
