I am no fan of Romney's, but let us give him his due. He is not a good politician, but Trump is not looking for politicians. He needs people who can take over our agencies and restructure them to do the job they need to do. The cabinet agencies all have legitimate missions they should be doing - if scaled back significantly. But with no exceptions I am aware of, they have been badly managed.

Rumsfeld started to take on DoD, and was probably the right man for that job, but then 9/11 happened and in the midst of attempting Pentagon reform he found himself as a wartime SecDef for a war we should not have been in (Iraq). We need a secretary of state who can reform the agency and get that sprawling mess under control.

Restructuring broken organizations is Romney's forte. He might be the right person for this job.
