Former Governor Romney was one of Donald Trump’s harshest critics during the election. He assisted his opponents and was essentially working to get Hillary Clinton elected.

Donald Trump met with Mitt Romney in New Jersey last week. Sources said he was interviewing for the Secretary of State position with the Trump administration.

Trump supporters HATE the idea.

Now this… Transition Team sources told Ed Henry from FOX News that Mitt Romney is preparing a public apology. Mitt Romney is reportedly very interested in the Secretary of State job.

Why is he so anxious to go around the world spewing Trump’s ridiculous foreign policy?

You may be on the wrong website.

I hope Trump doesn’t fall for this RINO bait.

Calling Romney a snake does an injustice to snakes everywhere. I think he would be a Trojan horse in the Trump administration, and Trump would totally disrespect Rudy Giuliani's support and loyalty. It would also be a slap in the face to all of us who voted for Trump.

Now we know what really went on during their meeting. Basically the first scene from The Godfather.

“Gov. Romney is talented and qualified, as is Sen. Cruz.”

They are indeed talented and qualified as oleaginous charlatans and occultic kooks.

Is this to prevent a revolt in the electoral college?

Why in the world would he want this particular job?

Apparently you can make a ton of money.

Ok, 3rd person who misunderstood me. I guess my writing was poor. What I mean is that Mitt Romney was telling everyone how bad Trump’s foreign policy was and now he’s begging him to lead that same foreign policy. It’s hypocritical at best and at worst he is going to completely try and take over Trump’s agenda in the world. Don’t trust Mitt!

You think the new President should do the same stupid things as the current one?

No, I’m just saying policy is going to come out of the Trump White House. I’m really not to worried about the Sec. of State pick. Looks like Trump is putting togethera good team.

I agree. I got a lot of heat on this site in 2012 for supporting Romney. I still think he would have been an okay president. I don’t like the bashing of his religion either.

“What are ex-Governor Romney’s relevant talents, and his qualifications to be Secretary of State, other than being J. Random Politician?”

He is - ever so slightly - less vacuous and obnoxiously arrogant than Kerry.

On the other hand, Kerry did, however briefly and ineptly, wear his country’s uniform, which Bishop Willard has not.

So...

Never mind. It is an impossible task defending the indefensible.

There are definitely some positive indications, but I don’t think association with Mitt has any upside. If Secretary of State is a job anyone can do, then just pick anyone to do it.

Not my perspective, Mittens was saying how Trump knows nothing about foreign policy when he was calling him a con artists and all his supporters supporters of a con artists.

Campaign is over. Time to govern and get reelected.

You can’t trust a snake..because the second it gets tough and it will..things go down in EVERY Administration, the second that happens watch Romney run to the media to trash his boss..its gonna happen if I were a betting gal I would put good money on it too..and Trump knows that..and if he doesn’t know that the people around him have told him that

Humpty Romney sat on a wall,
Humpty Romney had a great fall;
All president's horses and all president's men
Couldn't put Romney together again.

And that's the truth.

(c) certifiably NOT fake news

My point exactly!

My son has a shiny new degree in Marketing. He's clean, neatly dressed, and an interesting conversationalist. He's a patriotic American who preferred a candidate other than Trump. Why shouldn't he be SoS?

Did I mention we'd like him to get a job and his own apartment?
