Top Donald Trump aide Kellyanne Conway said she is receiving a deluge of comments about the possibility of Mitt Romney being selected as secretary of State.
"Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney," Conway said, linking to a story about Trump loyalists who are unhappy with the possibility.
She also stressed loyalty as a key trait for a secretary of State in a follow-up tweet.

It wasn’t even an honest difference of opinion on policy. He called Trump a LIAR and a FRAUD, which Trump usually takes very personally. Other business associates have said Trump’s word is better than any contract, and he takes pride in that. His butler at Mar-a-lago five years ago said the easiest way to get fired is to LIE to Trump.
I was shocked he gave Romney the time of day after he impugned his honor.
I don’t know what people have been warning him Romney might be able to do to sabotage him that co-opting Romney would be the lesser of two evils.
Setting up Romney to fail is setting up failure in a Trump administration—and failure for the country.
I agree. The SOS is a big appointment. Look at the damage Hillary did with her one term in that spot.
Considering the Flynn and Mattis appointments, I expect to see a comparable figure at State.
Sec State is not the place to him for that. Too visible. Too much a power base with international players. Too easy to screw up by offending our allies like he did with Britain in 2012.
If the idea is to co-opt him to keep him from creating discord, the place to put him would be in charge of the VA. Let him tackle reforming that entire system using the downsizing and fiscal tricks he was supposedly so good at at Bain Capital.
Too much like Romney.
POLL TO FREEP

To my mind, this election was about the complete and total rejection of the Romney/RINO Status Quo.
The GOPe takes/took us for granted much the same way the democommies used and abused Black Americans in this country for decades.
Both sides - the Uniparty - worked towards an end goal vastly different than what we want for us and our Country.
And this election was not only a bitch-slap at that train wreck in a Pants Suit, but a giant bitch slap at those supposedly on OUR side trying to ram their clowns down our throats (See: Bush, Jeb, Please Clap).
To bring Romney into this would be stupid and dangerous as well. He’s a stab in the back waiting to happen.
Same with McCain and the other worthless clowns.
I agree.
