The only people in the UnitedStates right now that this government is at all interested in prosecuting for child sexual abuse are the Roman Catholic priests. Everybody else can pretty much do as they please, so long as they are willing to pass some $ under the table, lobby for this or that and so on. The richer and the more politically connected you are, you are the more you can get away with, especially in this arena.
Catholic here, but MAN a lot of priests got away with it without doing a day in prison. Even the great John Paul II didn’t address it enough.
I think it stems from asking them to refrain from one of God’s greatest gifts (marital relations). We end up getting lust that is horribly misdirected and evil.

I just got what turned out to be professional criminal squatters next door. They had us fooled, acted like there was a lease. But there was a constant troop of vagabonds going through.
Afte two months, the place finally got evicted Nov 8 and it has taken two huge dump containers to take out the assorted trash. Needles, drugs and evidence of shooting porn. I also have the sickening feeling there was child porn.
Problem is I’ve had to act as Junior Dick Tracy. My life has been threatened.
So yes, the police are overwhelmed and no one cares.
