The ship was pretty much open to the public before.

Are we not using security forces to keep people off the ship while undergoing repairs?

I am sure there are ports of call that are more dangerous than one in the Canal Zone.

Now, now. Don’t interject facts into a error-filled click-bait driven thread ...

I am somewhat confused...

1. You changed the title of the article—nothing about Chinese in title. BTW, not supposed to change titles....

2. The article does not mention Chinese ownership of the port.

3. Port is controlled by PSA International Pte Ltd, formerly Port of Singapore Authority is one of the world’s largest port operators. Says nothing about China.

So, I was getting ready to send this to a friend with kid in Navy—with all kinds of expletives, but now I am wondering why I should/would do that? Can you please link to your information regarding Chinese ownership.

Should have called Vessel Assist and had it towed to San Diego.

Cost how much and it leaks? !

“The ship lost propulsion in its port shaft during the transit and the crew saw water intrusion in two of the four bearings that connect to Zumwalt’s port and starboard Advanced Induction Motors (AIMs) to the drive shafts, a defense official told USNI News on Tuesday. The AIMs are the massive electrical motors that are driven by the ship’s gas turbines and in turn electrically power the ship’s systems and drive the shafts.”

Huchison Whampoa has the final say.
PSA, under whatever designation, is a subcontractor.
And Huchison Wampoa is Chinese.

Can anybody think of a better way for Obama to sell technology to the ChiComs so he can pay for his recent real estate purchases?

A girl in the feminized U.S. Navy by the name of Nora Tyson, Vice Admiral and Commander of the Navy’s Third Fleet. This is why I counseled my grandson to stay the hell away from the military unless our country is attacked.

Scuttlebutt says Vessel Assist is commanded by another feminazi who was recently in a cat fight with Tyson, so no assistance was forthcoming.

I agree, you are confused.

1. wrong
2. correct
3. wrong

The plot thickens:

To complicate matters further, continued U.S. access could be at risk due to a deal struck between the Panamanian government and a Chinese-based company named Hutchinson Whampoa, Ltd. On March 19, 1997, in a $22.2 million/year deal, the government of Panama gave the Hong Kong company 50-year rights to two prime American-built port facilities flanking the canal zone at Balboa and Cristobal: both ends of the canal. Hutchinson Whampoa has worked closely in the past with the China Ocean Shipping Co. (COSCO) on shipping deals in Asia even before Hong Kong reverted to Beijing’s control in 1997. COSCO is the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) controlled company that almost gained control of the abandoned naval station at Long Beach, California.3

Hutchinson Whampoa is owned by Chinese billionaire Li Ka Shing, who has such favorable ties to the Beijing government that he was at one time offered the governorship of Hong Kong.4 Li also has served on the board of directors of the China International Trust and Investment Corporation, a PLA- affiliated giant run by the same Wang Jun who enjoyed coffee at the White House in exchange for a modest donation to the Clinton-Gore 1996 slush fund. 5
