President-elect Donald Trump has decided that his administration will not pursue criminal investigations related to former rival Hillary Clinton’s private email server or her family foundation, his campaign manager said Tuesday.
Trump’s apparent decison, conveyed by campaign manager Kellyanne Conway in an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,’’ would be an extraordinary break with political and legal protocol, which holds that the Attorney General and FBI makes decisions on whether to conduct investigations and file charges, free of pressure from the president.
During his campaign, Trump had issued incendiary calls for a special prosecutor to re-open the FBI’s closed investigation of Clinton’s use of a private server while Secretary of State and had also urged investigations of allegations of corruption at the Clinton Foundation. He nicknamed the Democratic nominee “Crooked Hillary” and encouraged chants of “Lock her up!” at his rallies.

Doubt he can say anything one way or another right now or in the future for fear of damaging the case. It is up to the Justice Dept and Congress to pursue.

Frankly, there was a guy who I read here this morning that said something to the effect that “expecting truth from the MSM is like taking tap water and filtering it through a bunch of used kitty litter to drink.”
They can quote and interpret all they want, but I want to hear him say it - and then I will voice my extreme displeasure with f@cking ‘expediency.’ Until then, headlines with a ‘(?)’ in the title are just diversionary.

Words mean something. A promise is a promise. Justice is justice. Breaking federal laws is against the law and is a FELONY.
Maybe, and maybe not. Remember, Trump is playing 3D Chess, and the media is playing checkers.
Imagine the effect of the IRS auditing the crap out of the Clinton Foundation, and uncovering ALL the bodies as a result. . . .
More Trump brilliance. He has washed his hands of it. But the FBI will still be doing its job, as will the Justice Department. When it happens, it will not have been Trump’s doing.
There is no news here. But to not prosecute the Clintons essentially validates treason by selling the country out to foreign powers for all time.
I doubt he’ll tell the FBI to stop investigating crimes because of the people involved. Or tell his AG to ignore a recommendation to indict.
Not appointing a special prosecutor to “go after her” is different from letting her off.
He’ll be able to claim that HE is not persueing the case but nobody is above the law and HE has to let the FBI do their job without interference.
We have a long way to go before he even takes office.

Thanks for some sanity Ann. It’s not his decision. We all just bitched and moaned about that for months.
Does this mean that the current investigation on the Clinton Foundation is being called off? Hopefully this investigation is still proceeding, seeing as it’s a year old, and is free to come to their conclusions.

I just heard Conway with my own ears on WMAL, saying if Trump “can help her heal,” that would be a good thing. Her is HRC, and I JUST HEARD IT WITH MY OWN EARS.
She says that if Trump “can help her heal” this is a good thing.
