Last week, we reported on Morning Joe ripping the notion of Rudy Giuliani as Secretary of State, with Joe Scarborough saying “he’s temperamentally not qualified to be, and he’s not qualified to be it based on any experience or training or any contacts.”
This morning, the show was still on its anti-Rudy rampage, with Scarborough stating: “it’s one of these things that everybody says off camera. I’m going to tell you it to you on camera . . . Even people close to Trump say Rudy Giuliani mentally is a few steps slower than he was several years ago.”

There ARE better choices than Rudy (my favorite mayor). And his interviews on Foxnews the past year do demonstrate he is showing a “slow down.”
I have slowed down too. But I still don’t let my children run the house.
They are faster and quick witted but they are not slow and strategic.
Look. Rudy had his moment on 9/11 and did have the nerve and guts to deal with street crime in NYC. However let’s not forget that he was viciously pro abortion, pandered shamelessly to the gay political agenda and even wore a dress in public. The guy has had his gaps.

This is one of the many more disturbing facets of Giuliani.
A lot of people have a lot of different problems with Rudy.
Eight years ago a lot of people on this forum dismissing the legitimate problems with him opused out or rode the lighting. It was a cleaning that needed to happen then and will be repeated if folks try to resurrect him politically.
Morning Joe has been giving bad advice since the day Trump threw his hat in the ring. If Joe was ‘right’ about tone, Jeb would have been elected.

And ‘speeches’? Rudy wasn’t IN government at the time - or seeking office. He wasn’t selling access and anything ‘not nailed down’ like Hillary... Hillary was Pay to Play - bribes for future conflicts - make me an offer... It’s different Morning Joe. That’s NOT what Rudy was doing.
Seems Joe’s in the ‘we surrender’ wing of the Jeb Section of the Republican party. Not a large part of the ‘win’...
Under the impression he would not take an office because it would choke off the lucre of his consulting biz.
He still would have been a damn site better than John McCain, who handed it to over to Obama.

Rudy is in his early 70s. Of course he’s not as quick as he was in the 90s. Didn’t Joe praise Hillary as SOS? Rudy is definitely qualified. Joe Scarborough told us that Trump would make Goldwater’s 1964 defeat look good.
I heard Joe say that Rudy is slower mentally than he was a few years ago. That was a cruel thing to say. He was also comparing Rudy to Hillary when it came to taking money.
And yet the the decrepit hag may have end up being our president. She had to be fed the debate questions. SOS is slower. Skills are different.

Perhaps he doesn't WANT to be Head of DoJ, SoS, etc etc. The man has earned an opportunity to take a step back.
Besides, I think that the position of "Trusted Advisor" would be an excellent one for him to have.
