Crew begins dismantling Confederate monument in Louisville

A work crew began to dismantle a Confederate monument in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday, the mayor said, in the latest move to take down or relocate symbols of the slaveholding Southern Confederacy from the American Civil War.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer in a pair of messages on Twitter showed photos of figures that had been removed from the monument.

I lived in Germany for 3 years.
European rural villages have some crazy, often UN PC monuments and art works. They never dismantle them because they dislike that part of their history. They are preserved. Often the locals design festivals around them and have great fun reenacting said un PC history.

Americans are fools to destroy their own history. Both good and bad needs preservation. Rewriting history should be left to the North Koreans.
