#1: It will only surprise those who do not know what you wrote, meaning except for you and me and another handful of people. The majority have no idea what you are talking about, unfortunately.
That is why it is important to explain, again and again.

Please don't think I was knocking you or your article. I am in total agreement that this should be spread as far and wide as possible.

I just continue to be surprised at how poorly American children are taught history.

I might know a bit more then usual because I grew up overseas but some of this stuff is just basic Cold War history.

Or do they skip that portion too except to blame Nixon for the Vietnam War?
