Report: Hizbullah Accused of Involvement in Peru Violence

Editor’s note: While reports have been gaining lately about both Hezbollah and other Islamic forces being found in Latin America – this is the first (to my knowledge) of actual violence being done. For a report in Spanish of such activity, country by country, read here.

Peruvian media outlets accused Hizbullah of being involved in violence and killing a Peruvian citizen during protests staged by locals a few weeks ago, al-Arabiya news website reported Saturday.

During demonstrations staged by locals from La Pampa district against government projects, one of the demonstrators was shot and killed.

Local media in Peru accused Hizbullah of collaborating with the Shining Path party (Sendero Luminoso) and of being involved in these violent acts.

While there are “reports” that Hezbollah is “only” interested in the Cocaine - they ARE in Mexico and smuggling for them would be a “win-win” against the USA: Bringing drugs to erode the US society, and being able to smuggle people in.
I hear that 3 Pakistanis were apprehended crossing the Mexican border the other day ....

There was real skepticism in the comments about this story in the Lebanon Press. I myself do not know. It does seem pretty far away from their home base. Teaming up with the Shining Path Guerillas sounds possible though.

Ok, a quick history lesson.

Following the Russian Revolution they began to support small and large "revolutionary movements" AKA terrorist groups around the world.

Groups like the IRA, PLO and FARC were all sponsored and trained by the same root group.

The USSR was not as interested in revolutionary purity as they were in just causing chaos that they could exploit.

So that is why you had the IRA training in Libya and shelling churches in Columbia.

The ME connection to terrorism in South America is decades old.

When the USSR fell these groups had a financial problem, happily for them two groups were willing to fund them. The mohammedans and the drug lords. Like the USSR they were not interested in ideological purity but in causing chaos.

So while people may say this is the first proof that a particular ME terror group is involved in terror with another certain terror group in South America the relationship is long standing and should surprise no one.

Please don't think I was knocking you or your article. I am in total agreement that this should be spread as far and wide as possible.

I just continue to be surprised at how poorly American children are taught history.

I might know a bit more then usual because I grew up overseas but some of this stuff is just basic Cold War history.

Or do they skip that portion too except to blame Nixon for the Vietnam War?

History is being taught as Revisionist. Taught for decades as America is a great evil. The teachers of today are a product of the 1960’s cultural revolution becoming professors at the universities and instructors at community colleges, whom now teach the ‘cultural revolution’ and byproducts of the social revolution
