Mike Pence Went To See 'Hamilton' And Got Booed (Shameful Gay Lead Scolds Pence)
Nov. 18, 2016 A view of Vice President-elect Mike Pence and staffers settling in for a performance of "Hamilton." Vice President-elect Mike Pence went to see a performance of the musical, "Hamilton" Friday night and was promptly booed by the crowd after entering the theatre in New York, according to multiple reports on social media.
The musical, written by actor, writer, and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda, gets people thinking about race, history, and theater in ways they are probably not used to. It also educates audiences about an important a piece of American history through rap and hip-hop.

Ok, wtf was pence thinking when he attended that shit show?
You make a good point.
That would not be a musical I would be interested in seeing. I am more a”Sound Of Music” type person with a little bit of Grease thrown in. No rap or hip-hop for me.
Pence - In their FACE!
The Left hated Reagan. The election of Reagan in 1980 was the end of the world. Remember?
But then, how many States did Reagan win in 1984?
As I understand Pence is not anti-”gay” he is pro traditional marriage and supportive of those of us who want to live life without same sex lifestyle being pushed in our faces.
The peaceful and compassionate gays showed their empathy and understanding.
It was an amazing show. My daughter saw it in NYC, and I watched it with her in Chicago. It’s really quite well done, quite inspiring. Please be slow to dismiss it based on this nasty audience response.
The Left has lost everything but their hatred.
As one who is not a fan of New York values I’m having trouble understanding why Pence is already feeding at the trough rubbing shoulders with the usual liberal pigs who dine there daily.
Our motto is tooth for tooth, eye for eye.
+1. Why would he go to a POS show like that anyway?
The problem wasn’t so much the audience. It was the cast lecturing Pence. Sort of unprecedented no?
I’d walk out on Star Wars if Chewbacca or R2D2 on screen started lecturing me. Let the liberals have their own special safe places like this. Stay clear.
There’s something different about folks who go to Broadway shows in NYC and Chicago than the crowd I run with. In fact, you wouldn’t even catch us in NYC or Chicago for any reason.
Pence was the recipient of loud clapping, also, as he walked in.
FAKE REPORTING again !!!

I think they won’t be able to resist showing more such “empathy” and “understanding” — resulting in both Trump and Pence taking firm stands, and basically shoving the whole thing back into the closet as far as possible.
Sigh.
I’ve seen it twice in NYC and will go to Chicago. Then LA, and then Houston. I’ll probably actually go see it in London.
I think it’s the greatest work of American art to date.
It’s incredibly important, incredibly inspiring, and at the end of the day, a profoundly conservative work of art and it accomplishes so much that we only wish we could have done in the realm of culture by getting millions of people now thinking seriously about and engaging deep with our founders.
I can’t stand the fact that most broadway people can’t keep their mouth shut about contemporary politics, and yah, broadway is very gay.
But all that said, I hope Pence enjoyed this incredible, pro-America, pro-conservative values, musically brilliant and dramatic and historical piece of art about one of our greatest founders, Alexander Hamilton — and without a doubt, our greatest founding mother, Eliza Hamilton.
I’m so glad you love the show also.
There’s a bunch of us here at FR, and we are just as conservative as everyone else, were just as thrilled with Trump’s victory as everyone else. It’s just that we see Hamilton differently, and we love the arts....all that said, I get it. I get where other people are coming from.
I’m just glad that Pence went b/c I think he will love it.
I’m sorry for all the jackasses in the audience who don’t know shit about America even though they are about to watch Hamilton, and don’t know that Pence is deserving of respect.
Finally...yes Lin Manual Miranda is a liberal. But I don’t think he would like booing Pence. That is not who he is. These people are just asses.
Sigh.
Great reply. And I agree completely.
Greatest work of American art? Maybe. It is that good.
Have you seen the documentary? Amazing what went into this musical. It’s really inspiring.
FWIW, my daughter is performing with a Broadway show in 80 cities this year, for 6 months. We are Christians, and conservatives ... and love the arts. God loves a good story ... and so do we.
Pence should say:
I hoped to enjoy a play while in New York. Unfortunately I was made to feel most unwelcome by the cast and parts of the audience. My hope was that with the campaign over we could all move forward together. Perhaps, my time would have been better spent at a Friday night HS football game with more common folk. At nearly $900 for a single ticket to this Broadway play it seems likely not many folks living paycheck to paycheck would be found there. Lesson learned.
In other words, F U Broadway.
I saw the documentary, absolutely. It was excellent.
It was also balanced from a partisan perspective....like meticulously balanced, and I really appreciated that. And even Elizabeth Warren didn’t say anything which anyone could disagree with (as objectionable as she is...).
That’s fantastic on your daughter!!!!! And that is exactly what we have to do! Fearlessly engage, and take our message everywhere and pursue excellence...just like she is doing! You must be extremely proud!
If she is going to ever be in a show in Houston, let me know, and I will make sure I attend and cheer!
With regards to the merits of Hamilton....yah...I think it is that good. The whole thing...the subject matter, the libretto, the music, everything. And it is sooooo thoroughly American (and if we are honest...it is also very Christian for those who have ears, we hear!).
I believe it is the greatest work of American art (and I understand the gravity of saying something like that!).
