Montgomery Alabama television station WSFA is reporting that President elect Trump has offered the position of United States Attorney General to Senator Jeff Sessions. This would be an awesome pick. Senator Sessions previously has saved as a U.S. Attorney, as Attorney General for the StTe of Alabama, and as a Senator for Alabama for multiple terms.
It is at least as important that as AG he finds and fires down-chain employees appointed by Obama and ClintonI (and possibly BushII).
I like Cruz for the court.
The only thing, and it’s a big thing, is that Cruz will be eviserated by, not just Dems, but Republicans in the confirmation hearings. The man isn’t liked by the Rhinos, Mitch McConnel and the rest of the swamp monsters in the senate.
I think they should be concerned with the fact he may not be confirmed as SC justice. It’s going to be a very nasty.
I was hoping for Kobach in this position, but perhaps it would be better to have Kobach head up the Dept. of Homeland Security.
***Good. Now nominate Ted Cruz to Scalias seat.***
Nope. Roberts is a back-stabbing worm. We don’t need to appoint another one.
Cruz needs to go back to the private sector. The sooner the better.
Did someone compare Lindsey Graham to Jim Jeffords? I certainly didn't. It is true that the Republican Senate caucus has moved right while Graham has moved somewhat left, but he is still far more conservative than Jeffords ever was, or even pretended to be. But more to the point, Jeffords jumped and tipped Senate control to the Democrats, short-circuiting GWB at the start. I'm as frustrated as anyone else with the liberal Republicans folding in the crunch on conservative litmus test issues, but control of the body matters a great deal. Jeffords' move was beyond the pale. He should not be compared with any of the liberal Republicans who remain in the caucus and help give us a majority, however tenuous.
My equality was perhaps off the mark. My point was intended to be if there is a sour grapes turncoat, Grahm is the most likely candidate.
Wow never thought I’d hear that someone who doesn’t get along in the Senate was a bad thing.
I doubt if all of Trump’s first picks get confirmed. Dems won’t give a single vote to confirm many of them and several republicans will join them (think McCain and Graham to name a few).
“Do we want someone to give up the Senate seat at 51-49?”
If you must pluck talent from the senate, then do it from a safe state, like Alabama. Though it will still be difficult to replace Sessions in that capacity.
I too will wait until I hear the picks from Trump himself. NBC has a very poor track record of reporting facts, so I cannot take them at face value as a valid and trusted news source.
“He has a pretty good idea as to where the smeletons are buried.”
smeletons...
That’s a great malapropism.
Who’s that, the new Sheriff of Calgary? :)
See #58
He’s much tougher than his gentlemanly demeanor suggests!

You mean Pres. Trump?
That may be a typo, but ‘smeletons’ is a brilliant neologism for the stinking scandals of Clinton, Obama and soooo many others.
Let's say 1 smeleton = 1000 skeletons, then it fits.
That would be outstanding!
Why isn’t this on Drudge?
“Good. Now nominate Ted Cruz to Scalias seat.”
You mean oily Felito, that mystery master of the universe with the “Ted” Cruz alias?
The brilliant jurist who “did not realize” that his citizenship of record was Canadian?
The champion of truth who campaigns with sealed records?
The astute fiduciary who forgot that the million or two million dollars in assets he said were divested were still kind of... lying around?
That ardent American patriot who sleeps next to one of the architects of a North American Union?
That bold outsider who ran to Jeb Bush when beckoned, and hired Neil Bush to shore up a hapless, sagging, shabby campaign?
The devoted family man at the 04:00 tattoo parlor with his groupie?
That dedicated Constitutional scholar who supported yielding Congressional authority on treaties to the Executive through legislation rather than Constitutional amendment?
That champion of the Bill of Rights who claimed that Trump’s words created Chicago riots?
That relentless adversary of the left who cadges a ride with Obama, Hillary and Jarrett?
That respectful public servant who tried to shame people for “voter violations”?
That model of alert probity whose campaign manager maintained direct contact and information flow with PACs?
That honest man with those impressive caucus skills, and whose campaign was so timely with false news of a rival’s withdrawal?
That deeply sincere believer in something with Bible sounds who is so devout he is willing to feign prayers not once, not twice, not three, but FOUR times to get just the *right* note?
That guy? On the Supreme Court?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
No.
Almost every thing about this Carefully Constructed Con-artist is fake, from his virginal cowboy boots, to the sickly baby-with-gas smile attempt, to the alias “Ted”. It is all illusion.
I think the only things authentic in this entity are the rat ears, the goblin nose, and the nasal mewling.
Unlike some, I think it might be better to leave these strong conservatives in the Senate, at least until we discern how things are going to shake out there.
