One of the hallmarks of President-elect Donald Trumps campaign was his pledge to crack down on illegal immigration, most notably through construction of a more secure border wall and through the deportation of illegals who have committed further criminal acts while in the country.
However, a number of Democrat-dominated urban centers across the land have in turn pledged to resist Trumps efforts by doubling down on their self-proclaimed status as sanctuary cities that wont cooperate with federal officials in the enforcement of immigration laws.
While there have been numerous sanctuary cities, counties and states for several years under the non-leadership of President Barack Obama, there are seven cities that have distinctly reiterated their non-cooperative stance following Trumps election.
Those cities are: Chicago, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Seattle.
The purported leaders of these cities, both political and in law enforcement, have vowed to oppose the incoming Trump administrations efforts at upholding federal laws, in effect choosing to protect criminal illegal immigrants over their own citizens and the rest of the country.
A Trump administration could attempt to bring these cities in line with federal law through the court system, but that could prove expensive and time-consuming.
However, there is perhaps a better, more cost-efficient manner by which these cities could be compelled to cooperate with federal agencies, and that is through the withholding of federal funds to those particular jurisdictions.

Fine with me. But i’m more for national guard called in to get illegals if necessary.
I live in NYC technically. But Staten Island would be fine whatever happens or whatever federal funding gets cut.
We’re kind of like a lost amazon tribe.
Nobody gives us much thought and nothing much changes through the decades :)
They’ll get so many Illegals that residents will have to take them in ,good luck , LOL
I agree. By the way, I live an hour east of San Francisco but it has been several years since I last set foot in that cesspool.
I live in San Jose.
We will be on that list.
Damn.
I want the new Congress to pass legislation enabling victims of crime by illegals to sue the legislators who approved or administered the sanctuary policies - personally. The cities shouldn be on the hook for the law-breaking behavior of its admintrators.
In other words, the big liberal cities. They will draw them like an electromagnet.
There are probably plenty of FReepers near these cities that either avoid them altogether or minimize the exposure. I’m about 40 minutes from L.A. and rarely go up there because much of it is filthy and smells like urine.
People need to start framing this as “These cities want to release illegal convicted criminals into your community”
Seven neutron warheads would do quite well... ;)
I was born in San Francisco 76 years ago and I still live in the area (but not in SF). The thing that amazes me is that I just have to wonder where all the illegals are living in SF. The real estate boom there has taken whole neighborhoods that were homes to minorities, torn them down to the ground and rebuilt them to house the young wealthy who take their company-provided motor coach rides to Menlo Park, Palo Alto and points south into the Silicon Valley each day. Today, a studio apartment in SF goes for $4,000 per month. Some retard beaner illegal can’t afford that kind of rent, so I just wonder where they all are. In the 1970’s I worked just off Army St. (now known as Ceazar Chavez Blvd.) south of Potrero Hill which was a ghetto with city-owned housing. We found dead bodies in the ally alongside our buildings and we didn’t stay after the sun went down. Today, Potrero Hill is all new high-end housing. Ditto for adjoining 3rd. St which was originally slaughter houses and shipyards. All gone! Go figure!

They are major distribution cities. It’s already happening.
Is it true they do number 1 and number 2 in the streets there?
Do you live near Dublin? They have a Half-Price book store there. There’s an even better one in Berkeley. Incredible selection of books - cheap.
Of course LA is on the list.
Feds, deny CA EVERYTHING until they allow discriminating between people who are legally here and those who are not.
Might as well add Portland, Oregon to the list. I’m sure we’ll be there.
I think Denver wants to be on that list.
Prosecute them.
You need to check all the garages. In East Los Angeles, as far back as the early 60’s—they were living in bootlegged garages.
No, but 25 or 30 of them can - that's how they do it.
