It was not that long ago that Texas wanted out because of Obama.
To: Az Joe
I voted my independence from California recently. With my feet.

I was born in California. Would that make me an immigrant?

Cali is a lost cause. I actually now advocate for this.
It would solve a lot of problems.
To: SandyInSeattle
Yeah. I am wondering the same. How are real estate prices in AZ TX. TN. GA. ETC?

Can they do a North/South split of California instead?

It would be a pretty big sacrifice, real-estate wise.
Having said that, it would ensure a liberal minority in the rest of the country for the foreseeable future, and perhaps even get a new state of North Cali out of it if the red counties want no part of that BS.

Can the rest of the country vote on this?
Because I’d vote “Si”.

It would solve a lot of problems. Respectfully I disagree, my FRiend.
One worries that (given the committed leftism and incompetence within the Cali legislature) that the once Golden State would turn into Venezuela overnight. Human suffering could be significant. Not a good thing.

We are bracing for a lot of new residents coming into the state from the west after the first of the year and the holidays are over.
