For his free meal on Veterans Day, Ernest Walker picked the Chili's Grill & Bar in Cedar Hill. The 47-year-old sat at a table and ordered a burger while his service dog, Barack, waited by his side.
Chili's is apologizing for what happened next.
As Walker tells it, an elderly white man wearing a Donald Trump shirt approached him and said that he was in Germany and that blacks weren't allowed to serve there. Walker, who is black, says he was wearing his old Army uniform.
The man walked to the back of the restaurant, Walker says, and a waitress came to pack his leftovers. Then a manager showed up.
In a widely shared Facebook post, Walker wrote that the manager claimed another guest said Walker was not "a real soldier" because he was wearing his hat indoors. Walker said he provided a military ID at the manager's request, along with his discharge papers. . .The manager couldn't be reached for comment Sunday. He has been put on leave, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reports.
One of Walker's attorneys, Kim Cole, said in an email that officials with Chili's and its parent company, Brinker International, apologized to Walker via phone Monday. . .

Where was his service dog?
Just happened to be an old white guy in a Trump T-shirt (rolls eyes)
Old vet said blacks **weren’t allowed to serve**?
Pure horsesh!t.
Guy just happens to be BLM activist? Big surprise.
Wow, now there's a spin. The manager was definitely on a mission. I guess this was it.
The writing in this totally confuses me.
something is fishy eh? not for long with freepers on the case...
he was a vet, he proved he was a vet, and that’s all that matters. and, before anyone loses their mind, this is a hamburger we’re talking about here.
the manager has ruined his spiffy career in the food and beverage business.
The dog's name was Barack, so it was either out playing golf, or on vacation.
Is he a veteran?
Are baseball bats banned in Dallas?
I am reposting this from yesterday
I am betting this is just a made up story he put on face book and this never took place. you can claim anything on social media. I am sure that the restraint chain reacted and that a confused manager was contacted about a incident that did not take place
Um . . . It’s on tape.
Wouldn’t that require a truthful story? I find it amazing that this happened in a restaurant and yet not one colabrative witness. Add to it a BLM activist and likely Trump derangement syndrome... And bonus points for already having a lawyer.. I’ll need some video of this happening before I’ll give it the slightest credence.
How about video from the restaurant showing the incident rather than the normal liberal bait and video evidence they usually provide?
There are so many things about this story that just don’t feel right.
then he should be fired.....makes me sad to see stuff like this... I believe you take people at there word on things .
If it was a veteran, and he even identified himself as a veteran, then he deserved to eat his complimentary veteran’s day hamburger in peace.
none of the rest of that matters.
Well at least we know it was neutered.
Why didnt the guy in the trump shirt just mind his own business?
