Me, either. It is soooo weird!
Is she qualified? Yes, experience as being governor of Alaska is good, but not necessarily for the interior post, was it?
You’re just messing with us, right?
Over 60% of Alaska is federal lands. As Governor, Palin got lots of experience dealing with federal land policies.
Oh, and there’s the whole “executive experience” thing. Alaska is a very complex state to govern; and Palin had sky-high approval ratings.
Is the ex-governor of Alaska qualified to be Secretary of the Interior? She is infinitely more qualified than the tree-hugger we’ve got in the job now!
“Is she qualified?”
What a question. I can’t believe a Freeper uttered it.
She also was a VERY successful Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, responsible for overseeing the state’s oil and gas fields for safety and efficiency. Almost more important than Governor.
You must be kidding. Before she became governor, she headed a commission in Alaska overseeing pipelines and other projects in Alaska. She got a long-stalled pipeline built across Alaska, pushing for profits from it to go to all Alaskan citizens. That trans-Alaska pipeline was stalled for years before the previous governor appointed her to head the commission. Her success helped her in a run for becoming governor.
The Interior job is about managing Public Land. Alaska is almost all Public Land.
