President-elect Donald Trump celebrated his status as a Washington outsider during his campaign for the presidency, but his lack of familiarity with the US government appears to be coming into view as he transitions to the White House.
During Trump's private meeting with President Barack Obama on Thursday, Trump "seemed surprised" by the scope of the president's responsibilities, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
Trump's aides were also apparently unaware that the entire staff of the president working in the White House's West Wing would need to be replaced, according to The Journal.

good grief, during the election the media did not change their radical left wing agenda, and now they still keep doing their baseless attacks.
Give it up scumbag media.
If you have an R by you name it is automatic with them.
Reagan was an amiable dunce. Bush I was a whimp. Bush II couldn't even tie his own shoes. Now they are defining Trump.
yeah... like the “community organizer” was...?
If I recall correctly, it was Obama who screwed up protocol daily in his first days.
When I was in the Army I always thought my superior officers were idiots.
It wasn’t until I reached their rank that I realized just how complicated their job was and all of the moving parts that went into their decisions.
By the time I was a Major I started giving my bosses a bit of credit.
From Obama’s lips to the media’s ears. Looks like Obama has been busy after his meeting with Trump leaking his version of
how smart he was during the meeting and how unknowing Trump was.
I see the traditional “Republicans dumb” meme is being resorted to already.
You’d thing the absolute electoral annihilation they suffered over the last 8 tears might given the pause. But no...
Can you blame him if he thought all a president does is golf? That’s what weve had the past 8 years.
Poppycock. Kelly Anne Conway knows this stuff.
Bovine excrement.
If Hussein can fake it for 8 years, anyone can do it.
I’ve been temporarily reassigned jobs due to someone abruptly leaving. I asked the current (leaving) guy to send me a synopsis of his SOP duties and responsibilities. It’s been two days and nothing yet because he doesn’t know what all he is responsible for and never documented what he does.
Øbongo’s list is easy: Disrupt and agitate
Trump is a WWE hall of famer of course he’s smart. LOL...
I love saying this to my liberal daughter and watching her head explode.
LOL! I could see Trump adding a wing or two to the White House, UNDER BUDGET AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE!
I seem to remember Obama greatly increased the size of his staff when he took office. All those people do NOT have to be replaced. Yes, there is staff work to be done, but having the “best and brightest” people is more important than having a lot of people.
Perhaps Trump’s surprise was at the number of people on the payroll who simply are not necessary, not in the “scope” of the President’s duties.
I also seem to remember that Joseph “Plugs” Biden did not know that the one Constitutional duty of the Vice President is to preside over the Senate back in 2008.
Hussein had ValJar with him so he didn’t/doesn’t need to know anything except his tee time and his vacation schedule.
Nobody will ever be more unprepared than Obama, and that’s now, after he’s been President for 8 years.
