Ryan: 'We are not planning on erecting a deportation force'
CNN ^ | November 13, 2016 | Eric Bradner

Posted on 11/13/2016 8:06:44 AM PST by Pinkbell

(CNN)House Speaker Paul Ryan said Sunday despite Donald Trump's campaign rhetoric, lawmakers are not prepared to form a deportation force to round-up and deport undocumented immigrants.

"We are not planning on erecting a deportation force. Donald Trump's not planning on that," Ryan told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

"I think we should put people's minds at ease: That is not what our focus is. That is not what we're focused on. We're focused on securing the border. We think that's first and foremost, before we get into any other immigration issue, we've got to know who's coming and going into the country -- we've got to secure the border," he added.

Ryan deflected questions about whether he'd support Trump's calls to slap hefty tariffs on imports from countries like Mexico.

Instead, Ryan said, he supports tax reforms to address the same challenges "without any adverse effects -- without any collateral damage to the economy."

The House speaker also said he is on board with Trump's call to keep some elements of President Barack Obama's signature health care law.

But he won't commit to mandating insurance coverage of birth control for women at no cost.

"Obamacare is failing. It must be replaced. We're going to do that. We're excited about it ... We can fix what is broken in health care without breaking what is working in health care," Ryan said.

The Wisconsin Republican said he agrees with Trump's comment to CBS' "60 Minutes" that Obamacare's laws against barring those with pre-existing conditions from receiving coverage and allowing those up to age 26 to remain on their parents' insurance can stay in place even as the GOP pushes to repeal Obamacare.

In the world of the legend, Hercules was depicted to have cleansed the Augean stables by turning rivers through them.

Being spiritually minded can be a bane as well as a blessing because it can be distracted by wrongheaded things. However, doesn’t even this myth bespeak the awareness of mankind that there exists a cleansing power that is larger than ourselves? Hercules did have to do the earth work, but then the rivers took it from there. This is one reason Trump proposed term limits. That’s a two edged sword because in a place where the “rivers” are themselves polluted, like California in recent history, that just brings fresh crap into the legislature. But if God can cleanse the “rivers” then they will be able to wash clean.

God put Donald there. God won’t leave Donald high and dry, I believe.

Ryan's main problem: He's a legislator who doesn't even know law.
Apparently

Ryan has got to be one of the most boring people on the planet. He needs to be dumped by the House.

Ryan needs to learn the meaning of the word “executive.” He seems to be confused about his job.

Let’s by all means pray to the Lord for what is wise to transpire. Either the flat tires get patched and filled, or they get chucked in the dump.

It may start one way stream out, but they will trash and destroy on their way out just as they do coming in especially along the border states.

Would likely cause more “Organic” protest/riots by the hurt no one’s feelings crowd too, etc.

TOO MANY illegals work for cash. Yard work, House cleaner etc.

Will be hard to find/catch those unless they commit crimes.

I’d love to rat out US Citizens I know who hire them like this, they are just as guilty of stealing from our country as the illegals, since by hiring illegals they deny a citizen a job, they cost USA whatever various benefits the illegals do manage to collect while working under the table as well.

Redemptions that might not have been possible (or easy, or rapid) in our previous spiritual atmosphere, may become possible now.

Now we see how obama met so little resistance with his unilateral and unconstitutional executive orders.

We don’t need a force if we remove incentive.
Ryan needs to go as the first step.

Our legacy situation has been a catch-22. Perhaps these people have been feeling the pinch of a cruelly mismanaged economy in the first place, and so are taking a hair of the dog that bit them. This will spiral ever downwards, but seems like the only way to survive while it is going on.

We need enough faith and courage for people to deem it worthy of hiring their fellow Americans. Nobody is perfect, and a culture of mere ratting can blow back in anybody’s face.

I don’t see the problem with contractors not wanting to work with the agencies again, so what? There are other people/businesses willing to be new contractors, and Trump will be sure to have the people making the new contracts do so at reasonable prices, not the over inflated ones.

maybe time to start seeing with new eyes, or yes the old ways of thinking will show only bleak possibilities.

I think those citizens I was speaking of only see it from the save a dollar mindset. Many of them comment not truly pleased by the service of the illegals they hire but they figure a so-so job done cheap, is one less chore they have to do themselves and it’s cheaper than hiring a citizen.

Yes. We must never forget the damage that Janet Napolitano did when she finally lied her way to the top of DHS.

Her sole goal was to get there and dismantle ALL enforcement.

A stone faced Bolshevik agitator, nothing more.

Since all the Federal agencies formed tactical operations units, put all of them on criminal apprehension duty. Any dissenting operations must turn in their gear; and, pass an immediate audit to account for gear all the way down to the round.

Trump needs to think of Washington DC as quicksand, not as a swamp. The machinery is designed to resist change, not advance it. If you look at the senate, for example, any senator can block practically anything.

The legislative process is slow, tedious and cumbersome. And nothing can be done without funding. So you have two thick levels of obstructions to work through right there. Trying to get Capitol Hill to do things is like herding cats. Everyone has different interests and each wants their own nest to be feathered at taxpayer expense, so myriad deals have to be cut to advance the ball downfield. The “dance of legislation” is delicate and time consuming.

I hope Trump can cut through all the red tape. I wish him Godspeed but there are no shortcuts unfortunately. He is already running into some walls of resistance and hew had better strike hard or the opportunity will be quickly lost.
