Trump’s Climate Contrarian: Myron Ebell Takes On the E.P.A.
NY Times ^ | Nov. 11, 2016 | HENRY FOUNTAIN

Posted on 11/11/2016 2:51:30 PM PST by Innovative

The mug-shot posters, pasted on walls and lampposts around Paris by an activist group during the United Nations climate talks last year, were hardly flattering. They depicted Myron Ebell, a climate contrarian, as one of seven “climate criminals” wanted for “destroying our future.”

But in his customary mild-mannered way, Mr. Ebell, who directs environmental and energy policy at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a libertarian advocacy group in Washington, brushed it off.

In looking for someone to follow through on his campaign vow to dismantle one of the Obama administration’s signature climate change policies, President-elect Donald J. Trump probably could not have found a better candidate for the job than Mr. Ebell.

Mr. Ebell, who revels in taking on the scientific consensus on global warming, will be Mr. Trump’s lead agent in choosing personnel and setting the direction of the federal agencies that address climate change and environmental policy more broadly.

Doesn’t Trump start with an initial bargaining position that is extreme, and then he can adjust back toward the middle as needed to get the deal? I wonder if that approach is in play with his appointments.

I guess more than a few in the EPA have threatened to quit, which would be a good start!

Trump has been mugged by this election. Whatever liberal tendencies he had in the past are now gone. He is going for the jugular.

That's an interesting way of putting put. That my impression too.

Friend got a new clothes washer, efficient water saver top loader. OMG, what a disaster. No agitator, water goes only half way up the load, barely turns load one time during wash, and does not clean the clothes. Checked online, disasterous reviews, but big box stores don’t want them back. So, people dump extra buckets of water in and select the super wash, to get just mediocre cleaning. The idea works for front loading, but NOT for top loading. Unbelievable.

Manufacturers have dropped water levels in all machines to meet increasingly stringent EPA guidelines.

Some of the best engineered American products in the world are now garbage.

You forgot about the clowns who spend taxpayers’ money regulating everyone’s toilets.

The joke is, people are adding water to get (barely) acceptable results. Like flushing WS toilets twice. Older washing machines are getting fixed and turned. My friend wishes they had done that. And, the new e-controls don’t let you add some clothes during detergent cycle and go back to beginning of timer; you must restart everything, which dumps the soapy water. Idiocy.

Mr. Ebell represents the climate consensus.

The global warming crowd includes very few scientists. They’re mostly political scientists, public administrators and biologists.

“Trump has been mugged by this election. Whatever liberal tendencies he had in the past are now gone. He is going for the jugular.”

Exactly. Trump, like a piece of steel was put into a fire, heated, and then pounded by the liberals until he has a hardened sharp steel edge.

The irony is that they help forge him for the coming 8 years.

As a Christian man in Southern California, with children who attend Christian schools and a member of a local church, I live in a sea of climate criminals, because we all have 3, 4 or more children, meaning our net carbon footprint has grown.

[Get me drunk and ask me if I give a flying frick about what the lefties think.]

Absolutely. The Liberals showed him why he has no connection to them, and how totally empty a void is the list of Democrat "principles."

He'll slaughter the 'Progressive Movement' once and for all. They are done for at least two generations, as young Americans get actually educated.

Also for water saving devices in areas that do NOT need them.

I live in an area where water saving devices are not necessary.

And when they make washing machines water saving, people only do more smaller loads.

It doesn’t save a darn thing.

“Let’s call for indictment, prosecution and imprisonment for anyone who spouts the false narrative of man-made climate change.

Multiple offenses will be met with public hangings. “

I belive this suggestion has real merit.
